The Mansion
FA Cup Qualifying Round
[/B]

The first ever FA Cup game at The Mansion saw SNFC take on Morecambe.

SNFC got off to a great start and found themselves 1-0 up within the first 9 minutes. THFC nodded the ball to alma, who then passed a delightful ball to set Rob free. He had to beat a defender before blasting the ball past the keeper. It was a fine strike from a player on top form.

Morecambe got a goal back on the half hour mark but was ruled out for offside. The defence held a great line.

Second half saw Morecambe get themselves back into the game. In the 52nd minute McNiven slotted home to level the tie.

SNFC were finding it frustrating to get the winning goal as Morecambe were looking to take the tie for a replay.

But a good substitution by manager Daniel got SNFC the goal they were searching. Biggs centred the ball for Rob to head down to find Theospurs. Unmarked he slotted the ball home to cap a brilliant SNFC goal. It was his first of his career.

MOTM: Rob

SNFC Get Off To Solid Start In FA Cup With Victory Over Morecambe
Non-League Paper

Although not as authoritative as their constant blowouts of opposition in Conference League play, the 2-1 victory for Network over Morecambe in the qualifying round of the vaunted FA Cup was good enough for captain DC76, who said that this was to be expected.

"Even for Conference sides, the FA Cup is a step up in prestige, so everyone kicks their play up a notch or two," the Canadian said. "I'm hardly surprised that the scoreline was so close. They played well. We just played that extra bit better."

The 4 SNFC defenders played the offside trap to near-perfection, which frustrated a surprisingly aggressive Morecambe with nearly five times the offsides as their opposition, 9 against 2.

Rob was once again the offensive dynamo, scoring one goal and assisting on the other from super-sub Theospurs. Despite an early assist, German striker alma seemed a little dismayed post-match, not so much from being subbed off, but from a self-perceived lack of form. But according to manager Daniel, she "shouldn't sweat it - she'll be back on form in no time."

danny's post makes me think, that we need chants for SNFC, mates. Can't think of one now...but maybe someone else has an idea of a good chant.
