I noticed that auxerre signed a brazilian called marcos yesterday so in my view i think the Kaboul deal is done and dusted but with spurs who knows?

18m for bent!!!! if he's worth that than Berba is worth 180m!!!

too much money we'd pay for Nugent.

He's like deffo going to Everton anyway.

What about Pekhart?

How much is too muc - I'd say he's worth £8m at least - how much are Sunderland offering - naturally if his heart is set on Everton then fine we don't want him - but is this a certainty

Pekhart - I've never seen him - but from what I read he's at least two years off first team action and that's if he ever makes it - he's not even proven in the reserves yet - let alonre fighting for first team

Of course I hope I'm wrong and he's a mega success next season - but I wouldn't gamble on it - and I don't think Jol & Co will either

I see Boro have picked up Tuncay - so that's another possible '4th striker' gone

Berba's girl

I heard on Sky Sports news this morning that we have put in an offer for Bent after all. Dunno how much though.

Sky sports have back tracked now saying that we are "linked" to him now and we have made an enquiry, but no mention of a bid!!
Surely we will have to match west ham's bid and i don't if spurs are that stupid to offer that kind of money for Darren Bent.... are they???

Hi Chk - I think if we are to be seen as serious contenders then we shouldn't be worrying about spending big money for the right players - the wage issue is more complicated - because breaking our 'cap' would probably need a whole lot of contract negotiating with other team members

Looks like he's going to be a Spurs player lads. He just turned down a move to West Ham.

What a strike force we will have.

I cant believer we are considering paying this much for a player from a relegated club, normal form is they get mugged, especially when the player ha virtually named where he wants to go.

If Levytruly is a strong character he will let Bent know we want him, but at the right price and Charlton (lets not forget facing the reduced income) will blink before we will and we will get him at our evaluation not West Hams inflated price.
There be dragons

I dont see the point in us buying players from relegated teams and this amount of money rather thought we bought a Left Winger not a striker.

Yeah the money is ridiculous, but that's the price you have to pay these days, remember he is a proven goalscorer. I Reckon we'll get him a bit cheaper than the 17mil asking price though. Maybe give them 1 or 2 of our players, ie Gardner and Routledge?
