New goalie required (taller)

I have watched most of the games this year. I think Robbo has cost us a few games this season. He is a good shot stopper but is not tall enough for a premiership goalkeeper. He relies totally on his centre halves, if they can't get to the set piece/centre it is far too often a goal. Goalkeepers should also be a third centre half. They should dominate the area with their height and their reach advantage. They should cut out a good percentage of dangerous crosses. That doesn't happen at Spurs as Robbo tends to stay on his line. Most successful premiership sides have a tall goalie 6 feet four at least. Any comments???

Good point about his size
I really like Robbo tho, he didnt seem to have many problems last season, people say he had a did in form after the united away game last year (1-1) but apart from that he was key to almost gettings us that 4th place! He has had a few off games and lapses this year, maybe this is down to him putting on some beef!
Who knows??
But i still believe on his day, he is among the best in the Prem.

Hope next season he'll be better than ever!

Obviously the taller the goalie the better but I still think he's amongst the best in the Premiership. Robbo's a great guy & I wouldn't want him replaced.

Having a changed defence on numerous occasions doesn't help. Compared to last season when it was hardly shifted.

Robbo is a good goalie but he has cost us matches this season, We need to shield the defence up more and don't concede silly goals. A tall goalie is better but Robbo has saved us from giving goals away at cruical times.

Robbo is a good shot stopper, but it makes me nervous whenever a decent cross/ set piece comes in... He needs 2 dominate the box a bit more...

Shay Given is a fair bit smaller than Robbo, but he's still a quality keeper.

To be honest i don't size matters an awful lot. e. foster, Jasskelinen Reina. but i do understand about roobos dip in form, he just seems much less confident this season and i dont know why. he was fantastic last season. and he can't seem to save long shots either, if he got some confidence back i am sure he can be back to his best.

The 1st match of the season, v Bolton, he let in that Campo 40 yarder.

I think thats affected his performance for the whole season.

Yeh, sorry I'm posting again but i think spurs have let in the most long shots or were 1 of the teams that has conceeded lots of long shots...

The question is, is it all Robbos fault? Or could it be beacuse our midfield gives them too much room and as Robbo isnt the tallest he cant reche the 1s in the coner???

Totally agree that he has had a bad season and his confidence has been shaken, been loose is arial balls and long shots. I still think he is one of the top keepers in the prem though and once our defence is settled again he may well come out of it and start saving shots as he used to.

He will get his form back that's for sure. I do agree that he has had a bad season and he is top goalkeeper one of the best in the premiership once he is back on form then he will start producing excellent saves.

Is it just me or has any1 else noticed that in the last couple of games and weeks he looks like hes lost a bit of weight?

And i wouldnt want any ohter keeper than robbo, hes a great keeper!

Height helps but I don't think it's essential. Robbo hasn't had the best of seasons but he has proved in the past that he is a quality keeper and he is still one of the best in the prem.

Yeah I've noticed that he's looking a little trimmer as of late.
