Portsmouth are the latest club to be linked with JD

Sky Sports
"I had him at West Ham and he was a great kid. I'd love to have him here.

"I am looking to bring in up to six players. We have not scored enough goals."

Would you miss him if he went?

Will it be another step up or down the laddar of Spurs forming a successful squad?

Would be OK with me, but we must get some good money and replace him.  Not good enough for the Lilywhites.  Sorry JD.

Doubt he will go, if JD wanted to leave Jol would have cashed in already IMO, depending on whether or not Defoe says he wants to leave in the summer, I'm sure he'll be here ext season.

How can people say he's not good enough for us.  he is happy enough (might just be high professionalism) sitting on the bench for us at the moment.  I actually cannot think of a better striker who sits on the bench.

Totally agree, I do feel it's unfair that a player of his quality is currently sitting on the bench, but Jol likes to rotate, and bring in the inform striker, Keanes got 14 in 12, so him being dropped isnt an option atm, Defoe will get his chance though.

When Defoe is on form, he's red hot, and IMO one of the best finishers in the League.

Hes not going anywhere.  I would not want him to leave but if he does I doubt he'll move to pompey. Thats a big step down for him

Pompey is for Ar**nal rejects not our JD!! I want him to stay we need him and I believe Jol will use him regularly on a rotation. He seems happy enough.

I agree Pompey is for scum rejects. JD I don't want him to go there I defos want him to stay and I think MJ should do what he did in pre season start three up front where Keano plays on the right and JD and Berba up front that worked well.

Berba's girl

We sold about four players to Pompey I believe, but no-one we miss. If JD went, I feel he would be more likely to go to a club like Pompey rather than one of the big 4 as he'll get to play regularly in the first team. However, as I've said before I hope he stays at Spurs. He is one of the most naturally gifted strikers around.

We shall see....

I was reading on another website and someone from pompey said they had seen Defoe and Peter Storrie walking through the residential area. Could this mean he has had contract negotiations with Pompey........possible.

I have heard about Pompeys interest in Defoe and I think this might happen though I dont want JD to go as we need to keep our best players to break that top four next season.

and you believed this?...

Don't see any reason for him to leave, and go to pompey for that matter.
