We could play Kind defensive mid with Kaboul and Dawson at the back.
Could be an option anyway

King said at the time that he didn't like DMC.  He is a Centre Back through and through.  Do we really want to play our best defender out of position?!  I wouldn't....!!

Nah keep King at the back were he's at his best. We'll lose more than we would gain from putting him in DM. He's a top class defender, so lets keep him there.

He's a brilliant defender, I have been monitoring his progress for a while. He's strong in the air, quick, strong, he has been used in midfield a couple of times to for Marseilles as well. Commanding centre back who won't find life hard in the Premiership in my opinion. He is also the captain of the French under 21's.

What a signing he will be.

If Liverpool, Roma and Milan want him - then I want him.  If we have managed to "do another Berbatov" then fan dabby dozy

Tottenham have reportedly opened talks with Auxerre over the possible transfer of Younes Kaboul.

L'Equipe claims that the North London side are engaged in negotiations with their French counterparts and that the impressive defender could cost in the region of €11million (£7.5million).

Kaboul has caught the eye of a number of clubs this season with his strong displays, and both Lyon and Fiorentina are also understood to be keen on the French Under 21 captain.

However, Martin Jol and his sporting director Damien Comolli appear to have made the first move by kick-starting talks with the Ligue 1 side.

Kaboul's team-mate Bakari Sagna has also been linked with a move to White Hart Lane in recent weeks, and the right-back has admitted he is keen for a change of scenery with Lyon, Marseille, Paris Saint Germain and Monaco also believed to be following his progress.

However, Sagna is unhappy with the prohibitive price tag - believed to be €10million (£6.8million) - that Auxerre have placed on his head.

"My future is not at Auxerre any more, I want to leave and it is not new," Sagna told L'Equipe.

"The officials told me I won't leave. I am surprised by the transfer fee they have set, it is a shame.

"They should not be so selfish and think also about the player's interest.

"The sum asked by Auxerre is exorbitant and I think that it is not fair play.

"I know clubs like Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Monaco are following me. I am also attracted by England and Spain."

Seems a huge price, even the player himself thinks that. He does sound good though.

Sounds very interesting player, He is tall, could be good in the air, sounds as though he is not afraid to take on players.
Lets hope we get him if he is that promising, but as previously said will he be happy sitting on the bench sometimes.

Kaboul Signing In A Week!
« Reply #25 on: May 22, 2007, 01:59:49 PM »
Younes Kaboul is apparently going to be signing in a week according to sources from France. It looks as though we will be paying €12million (£8.2million) for him. Kaboul is set to sign a four-year contract with Tottenham.

Lyon and Fiorentina were also keen, but the 21-year-old looks to have chosen the ambitious North London club, who will be playing in the Uefa Cup again next season.

I never heard of him either... All I know is that he's 21, plays for the French U21s. He's tall as well and can play DM if needed, looks like a better transfer than Rocha.
