Early days, but.....?
« on: September 26, 2015, 07:52:16 PM »
I know it is early days, but how do you see things panning out; at least before Christmas? Does anybody think - on the evidence so far - that we can make the 4 top by Christmas?

I think there are 4 clubs chasing a top 4 placing. I still think that either Chelsea or City will win the league. The four clubs I was talking about were Spurs, United, Ars*nal and Liverpool. Spurs are a better and stronger club than Liverpool. It will be interesting to see how we do against Ars*nal (who won 5-2 today); as we will have a far stronger squad than we had against them in the Cup. If we can beat Ars*nal then things could look good. Funnily enough our next big match (out of the so-called top 4) is against Ars*nal. That will be on Sunday 8th of November.

But then again, too few to mention.

We are much better when we play at pace,we started very sluggish against City and never got close enough to them in the first half so on this basis for us to get back into the top 4 we need to be right in the faces of MU, Ars,Chelsea, Liverpool! We proved we can do it the second half today, we have shown with the youth we now have we have the fitness levels to go 90  mins and have players going box 2 box this is paramount. The team is now showing good movement and getting lots of players forward, we have dangerous options upfront and at long last some real pace! All the top 4 teams have all the credentials so we're going in the right direction. As I've said befor we must not allow those teams to get the ball down and play, our defence is looking better and better the less we concede and now our important players like Erriksen are coming back there's more balance in the team. Getting into the top 4 will defiantly be great and will need lots more team performances like today, last ditch defending, chasing back, great saves and scoring when we get the chance, get all these right and our beloved Spurs have got a great chance, We play Liverpool befor Ars so that is a massive game, get through that and stay underfeted till Christmas then yes we can think of higher things.

I believe we could achieve much more if we stayed concentrated for the whole game.

On yesterday's and Palace's performance I would say everything looks good   But there are lot more tougher matches to go before Christmas. I am hopeful, more hopeful I've been for some years that Spurs could do well, but I would have preferred that we had a few more games before giving our opinion. But, yes, things are looking good. Our next two league matches will be very interesting. That is Swansea away, and Liverpool at home. Bring it on :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

Howdy voice, and interesting question. All I can say is that I hope, at least in the league, that our manager sticks to his best team, doesn't fiddle too much, and we could do well. I can understand why he changed the team for Ars*nal. Even though we all wanted Spurs to humiliate Ars*nal our priority must be the league. I see Cup matches as a chance to try out different players, different formations. Of course, as I am from the old school the FA cup is an important priority for Spurs. The first and only none league club to win the trophy. The first club to win the double in the 20th century. So that particular trophy is close to our hearts. Sadly, over the years the FA Cup has gone down the list of importance. Not all changes are good, I am afraid.

I know it is a long way to go, but I do think it looks good at the moment. As for Swansea and Liverpool. Swansea can be very difficult so you have to watch them. As for Liverpool, that is also very interesting as Brendon Rogers is struggling. We really need to beat both teams to have any prospect of achieving our goals.

It may need an even bigger effort if the English teams fair bad and Italy very well in Europe this season as it has been announced on SKYSPORTS website that we could lose the fourth place champions league spot as it goes on a points system based over each countries performances spread over 5 SEASONS! this link explains it http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10005194/coefficients-explained-how-premier-league-may-lose-champions-league-spot!!!
This is not good news for our hopes!

Very early days and far too soon to start rubbing our hands together.

One game does not make season! :nope:

Our results against the top 4 sides are important, for sure. They help boost our confidence when we do well. But our results against all the teams below us are more so I think. This is where we can build our points from. There are 96 points to play for each season against the bottom 16 clubs afterall.
