Damien Comolli has been telling talksport how much of a joke our team is around Europe because of the fact that we don't have a proper scouting network like all the big clubs that we continually deceive ourselves we belong with.
The buying and selling of all players at the Lane - according to Comolli - is down to the Technical Director alone and Spurs not having a proper scouting network has been a long standing joke across Europe for years.
This could be the reason why, no matter who we buy - regardless of how good potentially - we always end up with Sergei Rebrovs and Eric Lamelas.
No-one from Spurs has actually watched these players over weeks or months to judge then properly - Levy just puts the names of young up coming talent in a hat, then the technical director puts his hand and whoever he picks out we get it seems!!
We need to find a buyer quickly - someone that will put their hands in their pockets - unlike Lewis and Levy who are continually screwing up and are using our club as a cash cow for personal gain.

Yes sadly it is all true!, Comoli has been spouting his mouth of for months and the truth really hurts, with this ex Southampton guy coming in hopefuly we can get it up and running quickly, his scouting record is brilliant and you only have to look at the players who are in now or have come through the ranks there!, the main thing is that it is being addressed and if it has taken Damien to spout off to give Levy a reality check then Im ok with that.

I'm sure its all true, and until Levy, if he ever does, decides to let the manager/head coach select the players who he has presumably watched more than just once, our ridiculous record with incoming players will go on.
To be fair, Stambouli for 4.7 mill is beginning to look a good buy.

If he meant that he wouldn't sell his best player, the one who made the real difference, and replace him with too many average players, then I think he failed. Deja Vu anyone?

Although it is useful to look at other sides, even laugh at their demise, I get little comfort when my own team is doing the same or worse. Let's get our house in order first, before we start throwing sh"t around.

I would not say that Spurs are a laughing stock. We are in the next round of the Europa league and 2 points behind 4th position. That is not laughing stock material. We are just lacking one more striker (or two). On top of that we are in the quarter final of the Capital One cup.

I would agree with you. To be a laughing stock we would have to be struggling at the bottom of the league, but we are 2 points off 4th spot and still in all the cups. Spurs have had some hair raising moments in their history, but that was a long time ago. When I'm watching spurs at the moment I see hope and a glimmer of sparkle. I remember when Bill Nicholson took over and people grumbled and said he had no experience and won’t be leading us anywhere. But look what he eventually did? Now he is a hero and a legend.  Let us give our managers a chance.

Yes Don, we have to stop this never ending cycle of sacking managers too easily. Venables Pleat Jol Redknapp Sherwood all were dealt with rather harshly
