Pauliniho To Chelsea.....
« on: May 05, 2014, 11:38:03 AM »
Mixed feeling on this report which is probably crap.  TBH some games he is outstanding others invisible.

My thoughts are lets have him for another season as if he plays to the potential he can he would be hell of an asset.

There are other players who we should be looking to move first in my opinion.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

If Chelsea want him then it is because they see something in him. Maybe a new manager for Spurs will get something more out of him. So I agree with your comments about giving him another season.

IMO There is no way that Levy or whoever next seasons Coach is will let Paulinho go to Chelsea or any other PL side, :nope: :nope: prior to him being injured in our home game against Stoke(by that f**king animal Charlie Adam) he was really starting to show why we bought him :nods: :nods:, so hopefully we will not sell him to ANYONE because I think we are still to see the best of him!!!!!!!!!!

Funny you mention the world cup as I was just thinking about Lamela and how he is expected to play for Argentina but hasnt kicked a ball for us in 2014!

On that basis his stock may well rise same as Pauliniho and to be honest I want to see both in a THFC top next season!

It has just came up on the news that  Paulinho has been called up for the world Cup.

Personally I think that the fact that he(Paulinho), has been called into the Brazilian World Cup Squad shows just how he is rated  :ohyeah:, we saw in the confederations cup last year his obvious talent :nods:, so to let him go would in my opinion be utter stupidity :ohyeah:, and I might add to let Lamela go would also be somewhat bordering on ridiculous. :nods: :nods:
I for one sincerely hope that neither one of these is sold during the close season, and I would also add Soldado to this group of players that shouldn't be sold.

I completely agree with you Paul, there are many other players who we know are not good enough that we should be shipping on, players that have been a proven talent elsewhere and either not quite settled or been given playing time whatever reason must be afforded at least another season.

I agree with most of the comments on here. The players that were bought last summer should all stay one more season. I feel that the fact that nearly all of these signings have failed to impress this season cannot be a coincidence. They were all rated highly and I am sure that even Levy et al couldn't have managed to buy every player who was good on paper, image and reputation but then became rubbish overnight. With the right manager and a few key additions to create a team rather than a bunch of individuals and we may still see the best from them in a Spurs shirt.
Maybe next year...

Besides, I would be surprised if Levy would be prepared to spend more money on new players. In fact he may sell a few for profit. I hope I'm wrong.

Seriously, we need a manager in Van Gall calibre and that sooner rather than later, if we want to keep the present squad.

What I've read is that there will be a £50 million chest for the new manager. Any new manager worth his salt will make sure he has the team he wants and the money to spend. Levy also knows that to fill the new stadium Spurs must be a top performing team. And that means a top 4 spot.

Where did you read that? Will that be 50 million on top of any sales made? With the FFP teams are going to have to work more within a budget so maybe 50 million will have to do. I think that the players' prices will start to fall if the punishments continue to be dished out. Which will be good for the game.

Do you think we would be better to spend 50 million on 3 or 4 players or just 1 or 2? And who will make that decision, the new manager or the idiots upstairs?
Maybe next year...

Dimexi, I think to bring in another 3 or 4 players on top of the previous Signings might be too many, unless of course they are current PL players, my preference would be 1 or 2, but, if we lose Lloris and Verthongen, then it would have to be 4 possibly 5, as for who will make the decision, we can only hope that that decision is left up to the incumbent Coach, but your guess is as good as mine. :-\ :-\

I read it in one of the paper or apps. I usually read everything where Spurs are concerned. Anyway, last season there was a war chest of £50 million, but the only money used was from Bale. As for "on top of any sales": I am not sure, but I would imagine extra will be given if players are sold.

I think we've got a reasonably good squad and a good manager will, hopefully, get something extra out of them. But I think Ars*nal had the right approach by spending their money on one or two very good players (and providing they don't get injured either).

According to the papers Lloris has said he is staying. I have read no contradictory reports on this.
