I think he will turn out to be a good player.  But paying 30 million was risky.  I just don't think levy and Co are very astute.  They panic buy without considering the risks.  For years we were crying out to get a quality player or two.  Then bale goes and we didn't plan on how to replace him.  Ars*nal bought one quality player and it changed their side.  Granted we didn't have champions league,  so it would be harder to get certain players,  but we didn't really try in my opinion.  I would swap lamela and Eriksen for an ozil and we could have insisted he was part of the bale deal.
Maybe next year...

He will turn out to be a good player if he is not shipped off to another club in January.

I get the feeling that both Lamela and Defoe will be on their bikes in January, as they do not appear to be in Sherwoods plans.

I agree. I just read that Lamela's agent has arrived in England.

If Lamela gets shipped out it will be a huge mistake and a massive financial loss no doubt!

It certainly would be and I think Baldini should be held responsible. This one was definitely his deal...

Mistake unless we get our moneyback and spend it on a CB or another striker!

Why on earth would you spend 30 Mil on Lamela in August to ship him out in January when he was so obviously bought for the future, and do you really think that Levy will let TS off-load him, if you do you are either demented or dreaming, he is only 21 for chrissakes, give the boy a chance.

Nobody would pay £30m for him at the moment.

I want him to stay, without question he has talent and hasn't settled due to lack of opportunities and current media speculation is not helping no doubt.

I wouldnt be surprised to see him shipped out on loan, I think a lot will depend on the player himself is he pushing for a loan move  with World Cup year etc?

Cant see Levy selling as would be poor business unless he has an offer on the table to recover recent costs for the player, who knows I guess will will find out this month.

Exactly. He is young, talented and once he adapts he will fit in. As you said, he is only 21. When I've seen him play there were sparks of brilliance, but on top of that I've seen him improve as every match goes by. Sending him out on load doesn't make sense. When he comes back he will still have to readapt to our system.

30m on a yougster is a huge gamble, I still believe we should encourage more in house yougsters,  Lamela needs to play all of the cup games and bring him in to the first team gradually, however I still think he is not a Spurs player, maybe playing 442 now will help him improve and settle in better.

I am guessing that he is still injured hence why he wasnt featured in yesterdays team selection?
