At the end of the day the buck stops with AVB and until he accepts his tactics are not working and won't until he settles on a first 11 then we will continue to stumble along. AVB needs to take a look at the likes of Everton, Liverpool and dare I say the Woolwich Wanderers who pretty much play the same 11 each week barring injuries, and the real sad thing about it is on paper we have a stronger first 11 than all of these teams.
I'm afraid AVB thinks he's another Mourinho but unfortunately won't accept the fact that he dosen't have the same charisma or ability as the Chelski manager.
 
At this moment in time I wouldn't care one bit if he was sacked and we bought someone else in his place, I really don't think he is capable of accepting his limitations and that is a dangerous thing better he goes now before he does anymore damage !!
 
 

I agree with you; the buck stops with AVB and we won't know what that is until the end of the season. His future depends on us achieving something at the end of the season.

I agree. I've heard Graeme Souness is available and so are John Barnes, Tony Mowbray and Neil Warnock. Another option would be to bring in Dimitar Berbatov as player/manager.

        I am getting the impression that there are some amongst us that are prepared to accept whatever is served up and will still be prepared to make excuses for it, unfortunately for them they do not fund the payroll, the board DO and I am sure that they WILL NOT continue to accept it, which will mean ONE thing, and at this point in the season that is something that I do not want to see, I want to see AVB make some changes to his game plan, if it fails so be it, but at least he tried, the style that he is playing at the moment clearly isn't working, if it was both Soldado and Defoe would be scoring goals and they are not and that is the worrying thing.

 

I don't know what 'some' expect or accept; but I am looking at the end result. Top 4th spot and hopefully a trophy along the way. How we get there I am not too bothered. We've played fantastic football in the past and had nothing to show for it.

We would have a hell of a chance at taking the league with the squad we have if things could be worked out that so that we can attack teams, get quality balls into the box and put the sodding ball in the back of the net from quality play instead of penalties or miracle punts.

My worry is echoed by many others we arent capable of do that as yet and there are no signs of improvement.

I feel we currently have the best squad of talent available to us for the last 50 years and with the right tactics, line up and formation coupled with player motivation we could challenge very strongly for the league and in Europe.

I am sure the board see this too and must be equally frustrated.  Its time for AVB to show us his worth as a manager and repay the boards faith in him IMO.

         Gentlemen, the only change that I am calling for is, to change from 1-4-5-1 to 1-4-4-2, so we have a second striker to play alongside Soldado which just might help him to achieve what he was bought to do and that gentlemen, IS TO SCORE GOALS and play as a striker and not have to go so deep in order to get the ball that he is almost playing as the SIXTH midfielder!!!!  Can nobody see that or is it just a figment of my imagination. I am telling you right now if we continue to employ the same tactics, I am sorry to say that we will end up roundabout 6th or 7th, without a coach and winning something this season will be a Distant DREAM and this season will turn into a BLOODY NIGHTMARE.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is just a small gap between a dream and nightmare and as a Spurs supporter I have had more of the latter for too many years.  Sure we need to change our tactics and score goals, but do we need to change personnel to reach the dream or can we do it with the present squad?  Without sounding too optimistic, I think we can do it as we are. Hopefully someone will have asked AVB to wake up and smell the coffee before it gets cold.

To be honest he has tried two strikers up front to no effect. As I have constantly said; the midfield need to get the ball to the striker(s).

Liverpool have been impressive against weak teams but they still lost 3 matches. The same with Chelsea; one less than Spurs. Ars*nal have lost two games; but it is early days. As for United they are below us. Everton are impressive but they are only one point above us. What I am is a realist and I look at the facts. The only point I agree with you on is our goal scoring abilities (or lack of them). You could be totally right, however, from where we are in the league table we are in a healthy position; that is a fact. We are 3 points behind second place; that is a fact. We are eight points behind the league leaders; that is a fact. We are in all the competitions; that is a fact.

And the fact is that if AVB dosen't sort out his diabolical tactics and admit that things aren't working and try something different then come the end of January we won't be in the League or FA Cup and will be out of the race for the top 4 let alone the title !!!
His tactics are fine in Europe where they paly a slower more methodical build up and less physical game and we will probably do very well in the Europa Cup but I would rather forget that and sort out our League form otherwise next season we won't be in anything !!!
Personally I don't think AVB is capable of changing things he is blinkered and believes only he knows whats best and to be honest his backroom staff don't have the experience or balls to challenge him. I've said it before he believes he is another Mourinho and if he just keeps hammering away things will eventually just fall into place because he is special .....
At the moment if plan A dosen't work change the players and go with plan A.... why the hell did we ever let Redknapp go at least he would have changed it by now !!!!

On the flip side we are only 8 points and 1 goal ahead of the team lying in 11th which is a fact and 4 points ahead the team in 8th who also happen to have a superior goal difference.  And this Voice is why we are all very concerned right now.  And at the unfortunate point of repeating myself I say again we can just as easily find ourselves the wrong side of mid table as we can in the top 4.
