I agree with what you say in part. But it hasn’t got anything to do with Defoe or Soldado or playing two up front. We need to feed whoever is up front (which you mention in your piece). We are not getting to our strikers. So I can understand why he is using Lennon and Townsend more. That is what he has got to solve. I was surprised that he doesn’t start with Erikson; who is good at feeding the strikers. I am sure AVB knows this and is working on it. We’ve got a brilliant defence and we are playing well.
All in all I'd say 0:0 at Goodison is by no means a bad result. Especially when we consider Everton's form this season.

As a stand alone result, yes its good. As an ongoing trend, its bad as was shown by what West Ham did to us.
All in all I'd say 0:0 at Goodison is by no means a bad result. Especially when we consider Everton's form this season.

I never mentioned Defoe in my comments simply because IMO he isn't up to it, he is too greedy, I would like to see AVB play Ade with Soldado, I understand peoples angst toward Ade, but I think he would be the perfect foil for Soldado, and would give the central defenders something else to think about especially because of his ability in the air, he can also use the ball well by foot, I to was surprised that he didn't start with Erikson, I also don't understand why Lamela is constantly sitting on the bench, the kid needs PL game time. I agree that at the moment our defence is playing very well, as is shown by clean sheets, but, what worries me is how we will fare when we come up against a teams with 2 quality strikers(eg) Van Persie & Rooney, Sturridge & Suarez to name 2 pairs. :-\ :-\

I agree with what you said Riff 0-0 at Everton wasn't a bad result, my concern was the lack of chances we created. :nods: :nods:

What you say RSS61 is absolutely correct, it is the ongoing trend that is concerning and our inability to score goals. :nods: :nods:

I do agree that while we've got Ade we need to play him (at least in some games). The game against Hull would have been ideal for him. If not then sell him and get somebody else.

Regarding Ade, it think its pretty clear he is either so unfit both physically and attitude wise that he is not even considered for league cup games or for various reasons he is not in any way part of AVB's plans.

I would like to see the Ade of 2 seasons ago return and get a shot at playing with Soldado, that Ade is a player I would welcome.  Sadly for us there is little chance of us seeing that Ade IMO for many reasons.

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Would explain a lot Riff, hope he comes back to his best as he gives an option when the Ade of 2 seasons ago pops up no one can deny that!

Before Everton game Villas-Boas said: “Danny Rose will be out, Ade (Emmanual Adebayor) is probably going to be out as well, so we just have to monitor the situation with these players and help them return as soon as possible.”

That is true, he did say that. But those statements can be read in many ways. I accept that Rose is injured. But the use of the word monitoring the situation, were Ade is concerned I am a bit dubious about it. Remember when AVB said that Bale wasn’t going; his wording changed over time. From that I put two and two together and read as if he was leaving; and he did. AVB’s statement is cleverly worded. I am not suggesting he is not injured, but then again I am not saying he is injured. Read that statement again; he says Rose will be out, and Ade is probably going to be out; no use of the word injuries. In that statement he handled both differently. Just an observation.

Whether he's physically injured or mentally 'injured' is pretty much the same to me. He can't play and not because of a suspension.

I agree, but that wasn't what I was getting at. What I was trying to say was that he is ready but AVB is pushing him back because he doesn't fit into his plans at the moment. AVB is clever at wording things.

I don't accept he can't play, just that AVB isn't picking him.
