Is it too early to dream that dream?

Is it too early to dream that dream?
Last couple of seasons and the beginning of this season the fans and the pundits have debated upon who shall finish 4th; Ars*nal or Spurs? The favourites to finish in the next three spots are United, City and Chelsea, with Liverpool and Everton coming along the rails. Or Maybe just Liverpool

Well we are 6 games in with Spurs 2nd and Ars*nal 1st. Standing where we are now I can see Spurs and Ars*nal challenging for the number one spot, while Chelsea, United and City battle it out for 3rd and 4th spot. City and United have lost two games. WBA beat United at home while Aston Villa beat City today. Out of all those teams we have the best defence. United has the worst (conceding 8 goals), followed by City and Ars*nal (both conceding 7 goals). Chelsea have conceded 3 goals; lost one and drawn two. As things stand now I can see United struggling; City is the better option of the two while Chelsea isn’t that impressive. Or at least not impressive as previous seasons. Ars*nal hasn’t really been tested yet; apart from their 1-0 win over Spurs. Which I believe should have been a draw. Of course you can point out that it is early days yet and we’ve got a long way to go; which I agree. But there is no harm in reviewing the season so far and dreaming that dream; at least we are one step forward with a smile on our faces.

In all the competitions we’ve been in this season we’ve only conceded 2 goals. My only criticism towards Spurs at the moment is that we are not feeding our strikers as much as I would like. But early days. Days that I hope to see Spurs build upon.

Thoughts, criticisms or agreement?

I’ve lived a life that’s full. I’ve travelled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

My pessimistic side comes out to play once in a while. The other day it said 'You know what this could be Spurs' best season in my lifetime, we will play the best football and challenge for the title and end up in our highest position for too many years getting 2nd spot

...

Below Ars*nal!!!!!!  F**K BOLLOCKS S**T C*NT   ##!!##!$%%%$#$##!!!!!!!$$$#$  AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!'

You get the idea.

Luckily he doesn't come out too much and I think that Ars*nal will not be able to keep the pace they have set so far. I actually think Chelsea are favourites this year and we will be well and truly amongst it.

For me I am just looking at one game at a time, not really paying much attention to the table at this point as all can change very very quickly.

What gives me a big smile is we dont seem a soft touch anymore, hard to beat and scoring against but also we struggle still to kill teams off but in consideration that 3/4 of the team is new and hasnt gelled as yet dam the future looks bright!

I hope AVB sees his future with us and doesnt move to PSG next summer as some reports suggest and quoates from the man himself are concerning
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Oh, I agree with what people say that it is too early to predict. That is why I said it is only a review and pie in the sky at the moment. But it doesn't hurt discussing it.

The more you dream, the bigger the disappointment. Just enjoy the season, it has just started anyway...

Well it certainly is far to early to be dreaming, for that is all it will be. Dealing with the facts, one way or the other we have beaten all the sides that we should have done, which has not always been the case in the past, and has ended up costing us dearly.
However, we have played 2 "top 4" sides, and emerged with just 1 point, though I suspect in seasons past that would have been 0 points and 6 - 8 goals conceded, so yes, we are making progress.

I agree, but sometimes defeats or draws can give us a good indication of how we've improved. In the case of Ars*nal we kept battling and should have at least drawn. In the case of Chelsea we were overall  a better team and should have won it. What let us down wasn't the defence or midfield but supplying our striker (s).

In all the games so far we've just put a new team together so it wouldn't be surprising if we took a while to knit together. In fact we've done better than expected. So, yes, we are making good progress.

In view of the rumors linking AVB to PSG in the summer, I wonder if the spending was done to show him that this club is where he should stay.

As Metal says, one game at the time, we are all too familiar with the way our beloved players can suddenly lose momentum for no apparent reason!

I think Spurs know we've got the best manager we've had for some time so Spurs had to spend to keep him. If we want the top managers we need top football.

We have actually spent very little after the sale of Bale. Lets hope that we spend some more in January. We still need an out and out striker, a poacher in the Gary Lineker / Clive Allen mold, someone who dosn't miss all the chances that Defoe does.

Hernandez from Man U he would be ideal and apparently was unhappy at Utd hence our previous link with him.  His strike rate is outstanding.
