After watching the first 3 games of the season, I must say right now I'm definitely going to scale back my expectations for the season.
For sure the squad as a whole has improved. However has the money been spent wisely in the correct area?
Right now I am not sure, for the past few season we have been crying out for strikers, and after the sale of Modric and VDV not only do we lack fowards but also sold the creativity in our team.
I know members hate us being branded " a one man team" last season, but if there was ever a team that relied heavily on one attacking outlet , then sorry spurs was definitely it.
I know we have lamela and erikson to still come in to the team, but currently a trio of Chadli, Townsend and Soldado just doesn't do it for me. Poor Soldado is feeding of scraps at the moment.
Premier league title? You forget about that. There will be a scrap for 3rd-7th again this season and really hope that the sale of Bale does not impact us too much at the start of the season as we cannot afford to play catch up.
Without sounding too downbeat, I'm very happy with how decisive the board has been with trying to bring in the best players they can this season. The age group of the set of player recruited really bolds well for our future. Lets hope that they will all be up to the potential that the scouts and management team believe they are. Because lets all be honest, we probably all have seen very little of these guys before they arrive at spurs
