Well for one thing dont believe all you hear or read. If it does happen to be true it's quite simple we cant replace Bale. Who is out there on that level. Messi ? We wont be getting him. So we have to put 11 players out on the field for every game and hope they rise to the challenge. I'm more concerned about what it says about our club. Lack of ambition a team that produces great players and sells them rather than pushing on to become a better club. Makes us look like Crewe Alexander in a posh frock really.

Season after season we have sold our best players when big offers have come in, we are looked at as weak IMO by the big rich clubs.

For me if we do sell Bale, I will jack in my support for THFC as it shows no ambition at all as we are on the verge of something big.

Whats more important to Levy selling for quick profit or building to be one of the top 4 teams consistently in the EPL and Europe!

If this closed season finishes with Bale being sold, I will wish THFC all the best and thats it for me as cant be doing with it!
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

I can’t see Bale going but I have noticed how the language has changed over saying Bale isn’t for sale. Before AVB said that there is no way Bale will leave as Levy had promised him he won’t be sold. Today the tone was different “I can’t see Bale leaving”. Interesting! Whatever, the heat has been ratcheted up a notch or two.

As for what this thread is for; as it says on the bottle. Transfer talk. Apart from AVB and a few players and ex players Levy or Bale haven't denied or confirmed whether their top player is going or staying. Personally I am starting to get worried. This story should have been killed of ages ago. All Bale or Levy has to do is say that all this talk is total rubbish.

And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

We are at a crossroad. He stays then the club will be making a statement; that we are serious about challenging for top honours. He leaves and we are a selling club. Not a serious top 4 club. Ars*nal, Chelsea and City are talking about spending billions on buying top players.

I'm so sick of tired reading all this crap about Bale leaving or not leaving, I'd want to gouge my eyes out. Seriously, I feel a day will come when I wouldn't care whether he'd be sold or not, as long as the likes of Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester f**king United would just shut up, f**k off and leave us alone. We don't have anyone else they'd be interested anyway. >:(

I think all Spurs fans feel the same. If only Bale or Levy would come out and say something. Now I read that AVB refuses to discuss it. Brilliant! This will allow the speculations to continue. There is something going on we don't know about. Something is happening behind the scenes. The only good thing I can think of is that all this publicity is good publicity for Spurs. Keeping their name continuously in the papers. As they say; all news is good news. In the mean time....................... ;)

It seems that something is going on in the background: Bale's injury, AVB' s refusal to discuss the matter anymore, Levi's silence and the constant reminders from the press. I hope I'm wrong.

I know hat no deal is done until the documents are signed, but as I mentioned before, aren't we spending too much dosh at once? or can Levi finally see that we are on the edge of something big and that now is the time to have a go?

I must agree with you. Something funny is going on here. With the wording over Bale (from Spurs) changing everyday we (as in supporters) seem to be led up the garden path. On top of that, as I have said, neither Bale or Levy have commented. Maybe Spurs are upping the ante and trying to get the best deal for Bale. What is for sure is that somebody is playing games.

I dont think too much can be read into AVB not wanting to discuss it. He had already made a statement the day before and is probably, much like Moyes with Rooney, sick of talking about it. The sports press read something into every twitch and gesture at this time of year as they have nothing else to write about. Most of it is plain nonsense. For example why on earth would we fly Bale all the way to Hong Kong if a deal to sell him was already in place. They see his injury as a smokescreen but is most likely genuine it just makes a better story to come up with conspiracy theories. If he plays even 10 minutes on Saturday we will know for sure that he is still our player for the time being at least. If not well who knows time will tell.

AVB isn't stupid. By refusing to talk about it he knows the press will read whatever they want into it.

As for Bale playing in a friendly. All those that are reputed to be leaving are playing for Spur and will continue to play for Spurs - friendly or not - until they are sold; if sold.

"I can't make any more comments because I made it during the press conference for this game, so I don't want to repeat myself in all press conferences."
Andre Villas-Boas

Well, to me it seems he's as sick as a parrot of talking about Gareth Bale in every bloody press conference. I took a subject called analytical reading in university, but I must have failed because from this sentence I'm unable to conclude that Bale is being sold.

And thats exactly my point if he has been sold he wont be playing. Even if a deal is pending they wouldn't risk him, the others that played were in the shop window. As yet they have attracted no firm interest. And quite what was gained by them running about in that mud bath is beyond me. Apart from some kudos for the F.A nothing good came out of it what so ever

Yes, but you've taken one sentence among many; and each one is different and infers different things. Analytical reading, as you know, means building up a map and following the author’s (AVB) development of ideas over a certain time. Reading everything he says gives us, the reader, conflicting reports and also he is dumbing downwards; in other words becoming less sure of the situation. Unless he is stupid, and I don't believe he is, he knows damn well what he is saying is being analysed and interpreted. The same goes for Levy's and Bale's silence.

Personally I think he is covering his back.
