Here we are End of May and we are Doomin and Gloomin already and nothing has happened, we haven't sold or bought anyone yet. The Players are still on holiday, Levy can't have opened his wallet, cos there hasn't been a Moth Epidemic. The Fixtures for 2013-2014 haven't even been released yet.
WHAT A SORRY BUNCH OF TOSSERS WE ARE!!!

Better to say it as it is, rather than stick your head up your ar*e and think we will become a superteam over the close season.
With the current owners in place no chance!! but we will all be there next season because its in the blood! and you always support the team not the owners!!!

I think that because we are so used to being disappointed, we are all scared zhitless in anticipation of the worse. All we can do ATM is speculate and we have until the end of August to enjoy the privilege!  :tickedoff:

Do you just hate football agents, Bales agent quoted as saying "If Florentino is interested in Bale it would be a honour and we would listen, but his contract is with Tottenham"

So read between the lines means if you want Bale break the bank with a world record bid!

I bet Levy is creaming in his pants at the figures being bounded around regarding Bale,  I just want him tied to us, has there been anymore news regarding his new contract?

Another way of looking at it; if Bale signs then the endorsements the club would get would be worth an extra few thousand or more to keep him.

Personally I think we should offer Bale a new and hugely improved contract, say 200 K a week. Just having him stay at the club, if only for another year, would be a big influence on who we are able to sign I think. In any case, whatever we pay him we will get back many times over if he helps us make the top 4 next season, or we sell him then.
If we sell Bale now then it says to the world that we are not interested in achieving top 4 above making money.
If Bale really wants to go, then he is quite capable of forcing through a transfer, as Berbatov and Modric did. However I am not so sure that is what he wants to do at this moment in time.
One thing is for sure, we cannot expect to keep him on the cheap. Would anyone of us, blessed with Bale's talent and record be happy on 100k or whatever it is ? I dont think so.

If I was Bale one consideration would be the money, another would be the aims of the club. Are they/ will they be title/ league chasers? If so Spurs would need the squad and the money to achieve those goals. If the answer is no then I would be off.

Levy must remember; to build a stadium you need the fans to fill those seats, to fill those seats you need to compete with the top 4 and actually win something. Levy is in a vicious circle. One without the other and it will fail.

To be fair we don't know what is happening or what is planned behind the scenes. No shown movement in the papers/ media doesn't mean nothing is happening behind the scenes.

If that was their thinking then it would be really the end for Spurs

In January just about every Spurs supporter, ex pro and football pundit said that not signing a striker may well cost Spurs a CL place. Well, we all got it right, and Levy has cost the club £30 plus. Yet there are still people that think he is a good chairman. If it was any other business, and Levy wasn't a relative of Lewis, he would have been sacked weeks ago.

The fear is that he will continue with his zero investment policy, and only spend the revenue from players we can sell. Don't get me wrong, we have plenty of players that just aren't good enough, the problem is that collectively they are worth about £1.50. Our squad is also very shallow in quality, and even if we purchase 4 top quality players (which I don't think we will) we will have to pray that we don't pick up the injuries we are accustomed to.

Think us not getting into the CL cost more than £30 mate lol

I agree very much with the second paragraph, I very much hope we are not in the market only once we sell our deadwood.  Our squad is shallow glad you have acknowledged this a a few posts ago you were saying we should be going all out to win all comps.  Not with our current squad thats for sure!

If we only had 11 players I would still be saying we should try and win every competition. Is it really to much to ask a player to play two games a week ?

Baldbloke not looking to take the piss but have you ever done any form of sport at a serious competitive level, the body needs time to recover in order to maintain optimum performance, bearing in mind or lads also have to train as well as play competitive matches.

I strongly believe or squad should be assessed and then a realistic plan of how to tackle each comp drawn up, expecting us to compete to win for all with our current squad is just not viable and would end up detrimental to our EPL campaign.
