Apparently a 80 million euros bid is expected from Real Madrid for Gareth Bale....... f**k if Levy rejects it I would be very surprised

He can accept it, but before it can go through, Bale has to agree and at this time I don't believe that he would (His Missus has already said that she doesn't want to move overseas at the moment), you also have to remember that they have very young baby as well, so I would be very surprised if he agreed.

Although I think Bale will stay, we must acknowledge that football these days is 10% of sport and 90% about money. So, should a club receive an offer that is too good to refuse, any player could be forced to move on. And that's just not about Spurs, it's about any team actually.

Good point. Spurs owe it Mrs Bale then!

They aren't married as far as I know, it is also worth noting that they are both Welsh, and apparently they go back to Wales at least once a week to visit their families.

Do you just hate football agents, Bales agent quoted as saying "If Florentino is interested in Bale it would be a honour and we would listen, but his contract is with Tottenham"

So read between the lines means if you want Bale break the bank with a world record bid!

I bet Levy is creaming in his pants at the figures being bounded around regarding Bale,  I just want him tied to us, has there been anymore news regarding his new contract?

If by Bales sale we could improve the squad, I wouldn't mind, but I don't think we could. For arguments sake let's say we get £60m, what can we do with the money. For a start the type of player we need would expect twice the salary the club would pay. Secondly, top notch players want CL football. Finally, if we bought three players for £20m each, that would be 3 sets of wages, in stead of Bales one. Which ever way you look at it, if we are to get better the sale of Bale will not help.

Another way of looking at it; if Bale signs then the endorsements the club would get would be worth an extra few thousand or more to keep him.

Personally I think we should offer Bale a new and hugely improved contract, say 200 K a week. Just having him stay at the club, if only for another year, would be a big influence on who we are able to sign I think. In any case, whatever we pay him we will get back many times over if he helps us make the top 4 next season, or we sell him then.
If we sell Bale now then it says to the world that we are not interested in achieving top 4 above making money.
If Bale really wants to go, then he is quite capable of forcing through a transfer, as Berbatov and Modric did. However I am not so sure that is what he wants to do at this moment in time.
One thing is for sure, we cannot expect to keep him on the cheap. Would anyone of us, blessed with Bale's talent and record be happy on 100k or whatever it is ? I dont think so.

I agree the club need to retain their top players and add quality players which will give the club success, my opinion is Tottenham will never achieve that because of the wage structure the top players just wont come.

If Bale stays and the club replaces the players all Spurs fans know need replacing CL will be a possibility if not I see same old, same old!!!
