RSS,
The problems started right from the start of the season,
August Lost to Newcastle (A), WBA Drew (H) Sept Drew Norwich(H) Oct Lost Chelsea(H)
Nov Lost Wigan(H) and so it goes on, Drawing with QPR (A) and Losing to Fulham (H) just compounded the situation, just winning two of those games and we would now be gauranteed CL next season, but as they say "If my Aunt had BALLS she would be my Uncle".

Very valid point Mr Finch, it could also be said if we had beaten the mighty Wigan we would now be in the driving seat also!
I think we have done very well this season considering all the changes, during the closed season then our injury nightmares we have had (seriously wtf is it with our medical team). I am resigned to finishing 5th but believe AVB is the manager to take us forward next season and beyond.
For me keeping Bale is pinnacle and its down to AVB and our chairman to convince him that his future lies with us.
Then please invest invest invest where we need it!

In my humble opinion we have a chairman without ambition and a manager who is like a rabbit caught in the headlights of an on coming car. I think this season has been far from good. The football has been painful to watch, and there have been to many mistakes, ie Wigan, Fulham and Everton away etc. Every top club has a stand out strange result, but we have had to many. If Bale wasn't with us, we wouldn't have even finished mid table, and next year we are going to have to learn to play without him. I wish I could share your optimism, but to be honest, I don't !!

As you said "in your humble opinion." A director has to balance a few things, including keeping the club in good shape (financially). We are not inside the boardrooms so we base our "opinions" on likes or dislikes. Not hard facts. You dislike Mr Levy so he will never do anything right in your eyes. I would rather deal with facts. Personally I think he is trying to remedy our inability to compete on the same level as City, Chelsea and Utd by building a bigger club. I know you disagree but only time will tell. At the moment we haven't got the finances to spend recklessly. Leeds tried that stunt and ended up going broke and sliding down the division.

Levy is the 2nd highest paid chairman in the country. His only interest id to make his big fat wallet even fatter. The last time I looked we were the 12th richest club in the world. Running a club is not about making money, it's about reducing losses and winning trophies. I have no wish for the club to be run as Leeds was, but there is a balance. This year we have won nothing yet again, and will no doubt finish out of the top four. This can't go on !!
