Agreed on Rose, holding his own at Sunderland & Townsend who evidently is on form and has been scoring for QPR. They are both on the selling list at the end of the season IMO.

Would a draw suit us better than a win for Everton?

I would prefer a win for Everton as I see Ars*nal as the team we need to finish above if we are to get into CL. The rest of their run-in is slightly easier than Evertons I think.

Depends if your looking up or down. I am a realist, and know we don't have a monkey's chance of finishing above Ars*nal, yet we still have half a chance of finishing 5th and being above Everton.

I don't think it is a case of you being a realist but just want to be right and for that to happen you want Spurs to finish badly.

And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

Well I guess 0-0 last night was the best we could have hoped for. At least it means Ars*nal haven't pulled away from us. Dont fancy our chances against Man City with all our injuries & poor form.

RSS61,
I don't know whether you realise it or not but Ars-nal have to play Man U(H) Fulham(A), Chelsea also have to play Man U(A), Liverpool(A), Swansea(H) & Everton(H) so there is a chance that they can both drop a few points, we must take points off of both City and Chelski, providing we get some of our injured back I don't see any reason why we can't, our destiny is in our own hands, as they say it ain't over til the fat lady sings, and she hasn't started warming up yet, so fingers and toes crossed!! What do you think?

I agree with this. It is not over until the final whistle at the end of the season. Then we judge the wrongs or rights of the season.

I do fancy our chances against City. We haven't lost a game since Bale and co have been injured and I thought we also played well in those games.

We drew against them and yes I thought we played well against them. They couldn't beat us without a penalty shootout. Which is a lottery.

A penalty shoot out is part of the game. If we had drew against them, then perhaps we would still be playing the game. A penalty shoot out is NOT a lottery. The players can either take penalties, or they can't. Our players obviously can't !!

Be honest mate, when we got to the penalty stage, did you for one minute actually think we were going to win it ?

Of course it is part of the game, so is sending off, but that can have a dramatic affect and a bad team can beat a good team and a penalty shoot out is still a lottery.

As I knew it was a lottery I knew the result will be luck of the draw. Any penalty taker will tell you that when taking a penalty they are bit nervous and a lot of facts are needed to score that goal.

Obviously Voice you either have:-

 1. Never played the game
        OR
 2. Never taken Penalties

I have done both, as someone who was the designated penalty taker, I was never nervous, I knew that I was going to score, call it being confident or cocky, I like to call it SELF CONFIDENCE, something that I have never been lacking.

I have never taken any pens, but as an ex- keeper, I have taken in a fair old number.  :hide:. Only saved half a dozen or so mostly by luck. I had to run out to pick one up after the poor guy had scuffed it!  all the others were misses either wide, post, bar or over the top.

I will agree that penalty taking is a bit of a lottery. I have seen good takers fluff it on big occasions. It's all down to pressure or nerves. If you're cool, chances are you will score. Lack of concentration and you balls it up!

Actually it doesn't matter what I think or whether I have taken penalties or not I was going by the amount of  biographies and interviews I've read and seen on Top goal scorers who have taken penalties. Spurs and non spurs players.

Did you take penalties at the highest level? What team did you play for? There is a total difference between taking a penalty at the lower levels compared to the top international levels. I've never taken penalties at the highest level, I can only bow to those that have.

Baldy, I bet when Bale went down last night clutching his ankle , you beaming ear to ear just so that you could jump on this forum to declare how correct you were all along.

Lets not all forget that you reckon Bale should had been sold at the start of the season for attending the birth of his child.

Most of the ppl on this forum already agreed that the chairman should had spent, I don't think there are many, if any, who thought we shouldn't spend.

Sadly, I find this very plausible.
I also fear that the opposite may be true - hordes of Bald-Bloke type fellas clutching their heads in despair as our third went in against Citeh, rocking themselves gently to-and-fro and murmuring Oh, no! Now I may just have to admit I was wrong.

Baldbloke never comes around when we're winning. He's a sad little troll.
