You are right about Sugar, but what I meant was that Levy took it to another level that Sugar wouldn’t have done.

[/quote]

No, Arry took us to the next level. Prior to Arry arriving at the club we were the same mid table side that we were under Sugar. Now Arry has gone we are slipping back to where we were. We are now out of the top four, and will struggle to finish above Everton.

The "Rednapp Saga" will die when Harry goes down to the Championship with QPR at the end of the season!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how wrong they are,
But how do you know they are wrong? You are presuming you are right but only time will answer that one.

I think that some of what The Bald-one says has its merits, whether you like it or not, Levy and his cohorts purport to be Spurs supporters, but ultimately they are businessmen, who are only interested in making as much money as possible from their investment, if they were TRUE SUPPORTERS they would only want what is best for the Club, and they would have made the funds available to strengthen the squad, and we all know that they haven't. I don't give a toss about us being the biggest spenders prior to the season, it just shows that the quality of some of the players that were bought weren't good enough, possibly due to the idiot that was in charge of recruiting them, namely one Mr Levy.
:nods: :nods: :nods:

Whether Spurs fans or business men there is only a limited amount of cash. Their first priority is to make sure the club is on solid ground. Spending money willy-nilly is silly. That is why Spurs need to build a bigger ground. Look at Leeds who spent money stupidly for the sake of the club and now where are they?

Who said the players weren’t good enough? I am talking about this season. We should judge that at the end of the season. So far we’ve had a good season. I am willing to concede certain things, but not now, at the end of season; which is the best time to make a coherent judgement.

But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

How could you possibly know what was said in Sept 1899, for your information, the reason THFC moved to White Hart Lane was because the roof of the refreshment bar at their previous ground(Northumberland Park) collapsed because dozens of people in the 14,000 crowd that watched Spurs play Woolwich Ars*nal  29th April 1899 climbed onto it, and there were some minor injuries, so a new ground was found.
I wasn’t personally there in 1899, however, I am going by the history books. I know why they moved and I agree they had to. As we have to do now.

I am assuming then Voice that you are putting Alan Sugar in the same category as Harry Redknapp, by that I mean that Alan Sugar had outlived his usefulness to the Club and was incapable of taking THFC to the next level. I totally disagree with you on this point, the one thing about Alan Sugar, like him or loathe him, is, he was and still is a true Tottenham Supporter, a 100% Spurs person, who was prepared to put his own money into the Club that he loves, and was not looking for a "dividend" on his investment, unlike the present bunch of investors.

:( :( :(

Yes, I agree with you here; that Sugar and Redknapp out lived their usefulness. Nevertheless I agree that what they had done for Spurs should be recognised and congratulated.
As for a true Spurs supporter (Alan Sugar) I question that. He didn’t know what the Double was when asked and it was his children who persuaded him to join forces with Venables. The trouble is he wasn’t prepared to put his money in that is one of the reasons he left. Also; that was also one of the criticisms at the time about him. That he was tight. I remember them well because I was a writer for various Spurs magazines at the time. I had many interviews with him. If you know anything about Sugar his main objective it was “dividends” and making money.
As for the current directors; I don’t share you views and they have put a lot of money into the club, however, I accept they made mistakes. Hopefully this time around they are getting it right; at least by the look of this season.

We haven't got a Sugar Daddy and we will therefore carry on the same path until a new sadium is built and more money should become available. Although we should have signed a couple of decent players in Jan to put us in better position than we are today,  I agree with Voice that we have to keep our club on strong financial grounds first.

Good post.

It all hinges on us getting a new stadium then we can compete equally (or near equally).

If you believe by coming 5th or 6th and not winning a trophy is the right direction, then the answer is yes.

Did I say that or hint at that? Unless you are a mind reader you haven’t got a clue how we will end up. I said as we stand now we are doing well. If we drop below 4th at the final reckoning then that is a different story and it then will be fair to point the finger at somebody.

OK, have a look at our remaining games, and our present form. Then have a look at Ars*nal's present performance, there existing games, and finally their history of strong finishes. Taking all that info into account, do you really think we will finish top four. If we don't, what is your opinion of our manager and the chairman ?

You know mine already !!

If we don't finish 4th or above then it will be a disappointing season and Mr Levy has some answering to do. As for AVB; this is his first season and I am willing to back him next season. We can't keep changing our manger every few seconds.

As for the matches left; people also were cynical before we played United (in both games) and we went ahead and took 5 points from them. Over all we were a far superior team over United. It isn't over yet. We also beat Ars*nal. Yes, they beat us but with 10 men and at the beginning of the season.

So am I talking about this season, if, and I say if, we finish outside the Top 4, this season will be a failure!

I am saying that some of the players that were bought at the beginning of the season just are not good enough, and in my opinion, they were a complete waste of money. In fact I will go so far as to say that they were panic purchases, and it just proves that Levy should not be the person in charge of recruitment. Like every Spurs supporter I am entitled to an opinion, and his stupidity and arrogance looks like costing the team that I love a place in the CL next season. Quite frankly I don't give a s**te whether you or anyone else disagrees with my opinion, that is my opinion. END OF STORY.

Some of the players were good enough but did not progress a well as expected. This fact combined with our present injuries, our annual drop in form, Ars*nal, Chelsea and Everton lurking around the 3rd and 4th place, are the reasons why we are all panicking a little at the moment.

This is football and we all know that anything can happen. Admitedly, we are in a less enviable position than the above, but with 6 games left, 1 point diff and a possible 18 up for grabs, it is up to us to exploit every opportunity.

We will no doubt drop points, but I believe that so will they.
