Everybody else can and does make assumptions; and they are welcome. In your case your assumptions are tainted. You have said on here that you don't like AVB and never will; no matter what he achieves. Therefore your assumptions can never be fair and opened minded. We should always keep an open mind and be able to admit we are wrong. Sadly that seems beyond you. Which I find sad.

Everybody's assumptions are tainted, for example Voice loves AVB and Levy so his views are equally so. No matter what until the end of the season, he will show unqualified support. Therefore his assumptions can never be fair and open minded either.

This is not a dig voice, but pointing out how we are all influenced by our prejudices and preconceptions. Until we recognise that fact, it is unsporting to accuse others of something you are equally partial to yourself.

Where have I said that ‘I love AVB’? I don’t, I am just trying to look at both side of the situation. The trouble with fans is that when they try to second guess AVB or Mr Levy they do it through ignorance and their own prejudices. I have been critical when it was necessary and fair when need be.

We also must remember that Mr Finch has publically stated that he doesn’t like AVB and no matter what he does he will never like him. I have never said my feelings towards Mr Levy or AVB (other than we should give him a chance). As for Mr Levy he has done a good job in turning around Spurs from a club that was in debt to one that is in the black. He is also building for the future and has also spent quite a bit on buy top players.

So Mr Finch’s assumptions, comments or whatever you want to call them are tainted.

In the case of Mr Finch I have pointed out the facts which back up what I said. In the case of me; I neither support Mr Levy or against him but deal with the facts as I know them. AVB; I will give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise. What I said in the post you quoted stands.

But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

Okay so it was a little tongue in cheek. But you are by far the staunchest supporter of AVB and Levy on here. So I was just using that and mirroring what has been said about Finch to make that point. Of course you will feel that you are fair, and only using the facts as you see them to make a judgement. But again, no matter how much you say what you have said is the truth, or more accurate than a nother, it is still tainted. No amount of wriggling will set you free of that fact, sorry.

Well, it depends on what you mean by supporter? I criticise when necessary and praise if necessary. Look at it this way. I’ve not long joined this forum. Since joining we’ve had a new manager. That manager had to deal with players going and coming and taking all that into consideration – only being in the job six months -  and we are now 4th,  he has done an excellent job. Those comments are not me being biased but fair and accurate.  I am not going to criticise either Levy or AVB for where we are so far. I am prepared to give AVB a chance. As for Levy; he has made some appalling decisions; i.e. concerning managers, and for that I’ve criticised.

Maybe you like to explain where my comments have been tainted when I have made certain comments? I don’t think I have. Concerning Mr Finch; I’ve explained that I’ve based my comments on his remarks about AVB. In other words they were factual comments.

Maybe you like to explain where my comments have been tainted when I have made certain comments? I don’t think I have. Concerning Mr Finch; I’ve explained that I’ve based my comments on his remarks about AVB. In other words they were factual comments.

As you asked so nicely, and you did ask, I will endeavour to please. But first a quick comment regarding Finch. True your comments referring to his view of AVB are factual; however your presumption that his opinion is less valid than your own is how shall we say it? Tainted. Not because it is necessarily wrong but because it is not indisputably correct and is based on a viewpoint.

I refer to my original comment, with the key part in bold.

Everybody's assumptions are tainted, for example Voice loves AVB and Levy so his views are equally so. No matter what until the end of the season, he will show unqualified support. Therefore his assumptions can never be fair and open minded either.

Now I am clearly only referring to your assumptions, not to your comments per se, as they will contain many truths and valid perspectives. Also, when I am saying they are tainted, I only mean that they are subject to previous experiences, prejudices, beliefs, past information that was believed to be accurate but is in fact untruthful. Finally, I would like to point out that considering my comments are stating that we are all subject having tainted viewpoints, I am in no way saying that you are more tainted than the next man. I do find it fascinating that you are unwilling to be held as an equal with us.

An opinion without substance is just pissing in the wind.
I never said there is a lot going on but presumed there is a lot going. I just said they know the situation and will make the appropriate decisions. At the same time if they don’t sign anybody then they have their reasons.

I never said I was  “smart” put talking in general terms. I am quite happy for others to judge me as they wish.

Thank you, you have even used the word here to help make my point not only an accurate opinion, but backed with verifiable evidence. You have presumed there is a lot going on, but it is tainted, not necessarily in a bad way, but influenced by a belief that you believe that there is a lot going on, but not necessarily true.

But don’t think that AVB and Mr Levy know this? I am sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes. If for some reason they don’t buy maybe it is because they can’t get the right players or there are some other reasons we don’t know about...Nonetheless I prefer to take the view that not all fans are as smart as they think they are. I am sure that those behind the scenes are aware of the situation and will take appropriate action.

I am sure and maybe indicate that your are making an assumption, therefore tainted.
I prefer to take the view – so you are choosing to think that not all fans are as smart as they think they are. But you have not carried out any studies, where fans are judged on the gap between their perceived and actual intelligence. That is rather presumptuous of you, (Tainted)

but I am pretty confident that I am nearer to the truth than other viewpoints.

Pretty confident that you are nearer the truth than other viewpoints? So not 100% definite then? But you are still presuming that your view is more accurate than others. (tainted)

The reason I think it is pretty accurate is because I was also told this by various sources at Tottenham who are not connected. Of course I made an educated guess by putting certain bits together

Pretty accurate and making an educated guess. I think you know where I am going with this -  Presumption, therefore tainted.

No, it is based on fact. Because he said he didn’t like AVB and never would; no matter what he achieved; this means he is biased and his views on the subject matter will always be tainted. I have made no such remarks so my views can’t and aren’t tainted.

Of course there is a lot going on; by the nature of Spurs business. Of course I can’t point out precisely what is going on but there has to be something going on unless they are all comatose. An example; they either are agreeing that we need to do something or nothing. Again that is doing something.

Smart or not could also mean in the knowledge stakes; i.e. on Spurs. Unless fans have an ear to what is being decided then they know nothing. Have you ever know a fan who speaks with the knowledge of what is going on in the boardroom? I presume not. Therefore what I said stands.

I disagree. If I can quote what Sherlock Holmes said. 'How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?' I think you are being too pedantic here.

I was told by various sources and going by what I’ve read in the paper it makes my reasonably accurate. Nothing can be 100% but close. When you say “tainted” you are being pedantic.

No, it is based on fact. Because he said he didn’t like AVB and never would; no matter what he achieved; this means he is biased and his views on the subject matter will always be tainted. I have made no such remarks so my views can’t and aren’t tainted.

You have made no remarks saying how much you like someone or not but you most definitely have stated that you believe that Finch is unable to give a viewpoint that is not tainted. This is only your viewpoint and not necessarily true. Yes you are entitled to have that viewpoint, but you judgment on Finch is tainted by your view of him, so are unable to give him a fair chance in putting his view across.  Now you can try and argue as much as you like in defence of your untainted views. But unless you are omnipotent, your views are tainted. JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE’S, fact!

Of course there is a lot going on; by the nature of Spurs business. Of course I can’t point out precisely what is going on but there has to be something going on unless they are all comatose. An example; they either are agreeing that we need to do something or nothing. Again that is doing something.

So your argument is that even if there is nothing going on that is something, so therefore, what you have said is true? Really? What kind of defence is that? Besides, that is not the point you were making, but scraping the barrel to form a defence against this point. Either way you still made a presumption, which no matter how you dress it up and call it Shirley, is still tainted. You can squirm and wriggle and even go back and change your posts if you like, but the end result is still the same. You are not infallible, you have an opinion, every time you make a statement that has come from your perspective it will be tainted by your past experiences.  You are trying to argue that that shadows forming on the cave wall are reality, I am simply asking you to turn around.

Smart or not could also mean in the knowledge stakes; i.e. on Spurs. Unless fans have an ear to what is being decided then they know nothing. Have you ever know a fan who speaks with the knowledge of what is going on in the boardroom? I presume not. Therefore what I said stands.

Here you are saying that unless you have a direct ear to what is going on then they know nothing. However, it does mean that by implication, that you also know nothing. Therefore, everything you have stated is based on assumption and is therefore tainted.

Pretty confident that you are nearer the truth than other viewpoints? So not 100% definite then? But you are still presuming that your view is more accurate than others. (tainted)

It always depends on what those views are; I think I have pointed out above to support what I said.

Yes, and we are all able to use our own judgement, believing that we are closer to the truth than somebody else. I am as guilty of that as anyone else. However, what you are refusing to accept is that others have that same belief in their own viewpoints, and as much right to state them as so. Every time you claim to have more authority and accuracy on the matter, it is tainted with your judgement of it.

[/quote]

Yes but you are not Sherlock Holmes and have not eliminated the impossible, you have taken the word of this mystery person, and a few other sources and read the paper. Hardly a criminal forensic investigation is it? I have also been told by various official sources and read in the paper that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, turned out to be a load of bull. And they were so convincing too! So forgive when I point out that no matter whom or where you have gained your information, a viewpoint is subject to being tainted. No you may think I am being pedantic, but I only did what you wanted. Besides, you think I’m being pedantic, but others may disagree, thinking that you, I or both of us have tainted views. I would hope they think the last, as it is the most accurate.
