When is it planned for our new Stadium to be built and completed? I've heard so many stories; from 2 years to over 5 and "not in my life time".

In fact here are 10 things we will never find out:

1. AVB lasts the season
2. Win the Europa Cup (or any cup)
3. Finish above the Arse
4. Levy parts with any serious money
5. Bale goes to RM
6. Spurs play attractive football again
7. Voice wins a prize in amateur photography
8. Aliens become Spurs supporters
9. Hud gets his hair cut
10. BB and Ugs form a threesome with AVB and live happily ever after

The problem is that the club has made NO legal obligation to build a stadium as yet, and there  is still no sponsorship in place. In short, don't hold your your breath. I am still not convinced for various reasons that building a new stadium is a great idea, for several reasons. If you want to know them, can and buy me a beer.

This is a very big subject, and that's why I prefer to discuss it with people face to face. In short though, a  larger stadium brings many problems with it.

 Like Ars*nal, the stadium requires paying for, and until that time is up there will be very little  money to spend on players (10 years approx). There is also the worry that Levy will up the ticket prices to the Level of Ars*nal. Their tickets went up by about 35% over night. Whether we like it or not, Ars*nal have a far larger fan base than us, and always fill the stadium regardless of kick off time or opponents. At the time of writing this there are still many tickets available for the Reading and Newcastle games, 9 days and two weeks away respectively, and that's with a 36000 stadium. Despite what the club say, I am also far from convinced that the travel infrastructure will cope, and there simply aren't enough pubs at the moment, as so many closed down. I am also worried about what will happen to the atmosphere. It's already dying, and a hike in prices will only change the demographic even more, so we will get to see more and more middle class families attending the games. If the club reaches a stage where the demand doesn't out strip the supply, we will be on the slippery slope.

It's my belief that the development is to encourage a new buyer, and there aren't many like the ones Citeh and Chelski have. Of course, if levy sold the club, the board and Lewis would make an absolute fortune, and the total investment in the stadium would be funded by THFC. Believe me, this development is about a few people making a lot of money, and has absolutely nothing to with trophies.

Now this may sound cynical, but I think you will find that everything I have said makes absolute sense.

But on what grounds ?

You may or may not know, but only 20%/25% of the clubs revenue comes from match day receipts. Even if we sold out every game (which we won't) the clubs revenue from the aforementioned receipts will only rise by approximately 10%, whereas it's debts will be massive. No club to my knowledge has ever become successful as result of building a massive stadium, as the success always comes first. Whilst like most supporters I look forward to stepping into a brand new state of the art stadium, in a rejuvenated area, the maths just don't add up, and ONLY the sale of the club to a rich benefactor can make this project work.  I am constantly reminded that we should trust Levy, but this is the same man that has increased my season ticket 3 fold, signed Ramos and Santini and tried to move us to the land of Pikys. Personally I would rather trust a politician

That is a fair comment, however it's peanuts compared to the repayments. Levy has released all the positive stuff about the additional income, but has been careful in not mentioning the repayments.

Rubbish. My boss is in charge at work and I trust him as far as I can throw him. Tony Blair was in charge of the country for many years and totally fooked it up, did you trust him as well.  In fact do you really trust everyone who is charge ?

Until we have positive proof to the contrary then we will have to go with him.

But we do have positive proof to the contrary. In all the years he has been in charge, this what we have achieved.

1) We have won only one league cup
2) He signed Santini and Ramos, and he sacked Jol and Arry
3) He attempted to move us to the land of the Piky.
4) He has nearly tripled the price of tickets.

The other problem here is that you don't like Levy or AVB so your comments are clouded on anything they do. If Levy and AVB win everything they will always be the devil to you.

NO, I will  never trust Levy, but I won't have to. The building of a new stadium is about selling THFC, so any possible success will be as a result of a new owner. Your wrong about AVB though. If he can manage to achieve what Arry did over the next few seasons, I will happily eat my words, and put up with the boring rubbish we play on the pitch (even when we win)

So what have Ars*nal won since they moved to the Emirates, NOTHING. How many clubs as a result of moving to a massive stadium become successful, NON.  How are we going to buy new players when we are paying off a £400m debt, WE'RE NOT. Your like so many other fans, you just want the bragging factor of playing in a massive stadium, but have no proof that it will help us achieve success.

It's very frustrating when someone won't listen to sense, and has an argument based on what he would like to happen, rather than strategic application.

Yes accepting that others do not agree with your viewpoint can be frustrating. Particularly, when for you it all seems so clear. But you have to remember that A-another will also be feeling the same way. Telling someone what to think does not work. Putting your views out there in a way that is less forthright will allow others the chance to acknowledge what you have said and then decide if they agree with it or not.

Unfortunately some will still try and create opposition to it or are so introverted and closed, that whenever someone else suggests something outside of their own world view, they put up defences to block it out, even when faced with truth.

To give an example outside of football. Look at racism - it is a stupid idea, we are all the same and there is no reason why one human being should be considered better than another based on something as ridiculous as the pigment contained in someone's skin. Yet, talk to someone from a nazi belief system and you could argue all day but I doubt that anyone would have much luck changing their perceptions. Even if you kept saying the same things to them, which were considered to be the truth, it would not impact on the way they thought.

If you want to go deeper still, everything that we discuss on here is through the use of our conscious minds. Which is great for having a discussion and using ideas and evidence etc. Our conscious minds think about the past and the future and works using our short term memory. But our belief systems are based in our sub-conscious minds which cannot be accessed easily in this way. It is based on the present moment but also uses our long term memory.

Which is why most people on here keep putting their views across to all that will hear them. But look through and find some examples when someone has actually changed their views. I would invite the opportunity for more of this to take place but it would require us to suspend our usual habits and to try and think differently around certain issues.
