Pointless comparing AVB at Chelsea to AVB at THFC as we are a much different club.

So far in the media I think AVB has done okay, he has had a bottle to speak up and accept blame for some poor decisions and tactics that didnt work in some matches and for me that goes along way.

I admit his choice of words re Bale could have been a lot better but I am certainly not going to make a big issue out of i, as the bottom line is Bale will be leaving us one day we all know this, we also know it could be as early as next season if we dont get CL footi and most have accepted this.

What AVB says in the media through a poor choice of words certainly isnt going to determine whether Bale stays or goes.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

I am not comparing AVB at Chelski to AVB at THFC, I am merely pointing out that he is making similar mistakes. Obviously his command of the English language isn't as good as say Ferguson or Wenger(although sometimes his choice of words leaves a lot to be desired). Surely at times it is better to say nothing than to have your comments misconstrued and then used against you, I am sure that I am not the only Spurs person saying it
  I just wish he would think before he makes those sort of comments thats all.

I am in full agreement with that it is often better to keep hush than say the wrong thing.

But I still dont feel he has said anything wrong just not worded it too well and because he is a media target they will jump all over it as they have as it seems most in the media want to see AVB fail which will mean we as a team will have failed.

Metal,
   There were about 6 or 7 reports in different papers, and they all said basically the same things,"we will find it hard to keep Bale next season" and they were all attributed to AVB. Why state the obvious?What we don't need is our coach allowing himself to be quoted in this way, thus allowing every man and his dog to speculate on Bales future, because all that that does is create a similar problem to the one that we had with Modric last season, and we all know how that ended up don't we.

 :nods: :nods: :nods:

Except at the end of last season Levy came out and stated "Our squad has top players at all levels and we shall continue to seek stability and to retain key players this summer and beyond.

"We are a club that is focusing on growth and moving forward." Saying all the buzz words and phrases you want to hear. Problem is they mean diddly squat! It does not matter what is said or not said in these issues, it depends on how the player feels (first and foremost, we may not like it but it is the way it is, then the manager (in a club that allows the manager to make decisions) then the chairman (if he agrees or believes in his manager). The big issue here is money, wages for the player, transfer funds for the club. Loyalty is a very rare commodity these days, unfortunately.

Playing silly mind games, that subvert the truth and is trying to be smoke and mirrors is a pathetic waste of time and energy. Anyone with a bit of common sense can see through it, so why bother? If you do what is always done, then expect no more that what you already have. Stop playing the game by the same rules and we may see a different, more valuable outcome.
Maybe next year...

Why is it that when I look at the Spurs Web-Site (Media watch) that I see AVB saying that it will be difficult to keep Bale next season, what he is doing is saying  "OK you RICH CLUBS make us an offer that we can't refuse and we will sell OUR BEST PLAYER. What he should be saying is F--K OFF, we are not going to let him go at ANY PRICE, and LEVY should be DOING the same, but there is nothing from our CHAIRMAN. Does this mean that we are open to offers? If you don't believe me look for yourselves. I am disgusted.

It doesn't matter what AVB or Levy say now, come the summer he will be sold. To think anything else is naive
AVB OUT, AND TAKE LEVY WITH YOU

I agree that it does not matter what is said. Whether he will be sold or not depends on where we end up in the league and whether he wants to leave or not. If one or both of these are true, he will go. I just hope if he does leave that he can go with the blessing of the fans. Would like to see him back one day. Realistically, he is a player that could get into any side. If he stays in this form his transfer fee will not be far off Ronaldo's move to Real.

Maybe next year...

When Bale goes (unfortunately it is when no t if) he must be sold on to a team aboard not an EPL team.  My money is on Real due to our "little arrangement" in which case the transfer fee will be reasonable.  If Bale wants to go it will simply be down to THFC not meeting is goals for achievement not because what he deems a bigger club coming n for him.

And on that basis I wouldnt hold it against him, I hope on this occasion the club handles it all better than the Modric senario, a clearner transfer, though I dont think Bale is the type of person Modric is to go so public and strike!

I don't think it is a done deal that he will be sold. And if he does it won't be for a couple of years.
I’ve lived a life that’s full. I’ve travelled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
