Will he or won't he?

I was wondering whether or not after last nights display whether AVB will swallow his pride and start with BOTH Defoe and Adebayor, I for one can only hope that he will, but I doubt it, but we shall see!!!

Playing Adebayor and Defoe worked for us last night but feel
until we have stronger players e.g. Parker, Sandro and Dembele available
in mid field we might be best advised going back to the "loan striker" particularly
against the stronger Prem sides.

To play with whom, surely not Dempsey, a player who at best should be in the reserves, at worst keeping the bench warm.

I thought Adebayor was superb last night, if not match fit. He really must be starting, along with Defoe.
Its Huddlestone who is the weakness.

I think Ade will has certainly given AVB something to think about now, we looked better playing 4-4-2 but I agree until we have solid players available for midfield we are better going with 1 up front, Man City will be interesting on Sunday.

I am guessing Ade wont feature due to contract in place.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

He's our player we can play him whenever we like. That rule only applys to players on loan.

Manager's pick their team on how best to tackle the opposition they are facing at the time. We also mustn't forget that last nights match was against a weak team.

I was at the match. I thought Spurs were far superior than their opponents. I was also impressed with Dawson. Even the youngsters played well. But against City and Ars*nal it will be a different kettle of fish and tacts will probably be different.

Arent they still paying a big lump of his wages, I can imagine there being a playing clause in the agreement it wouldnt surprise me, we will find out Sunday as if there isnt I would expect Ade to feature at some point.

No. As far as I know the £5 million that Spurs paid for him went to him instead of City.

Your right. Against weaker sides, especially at home, a 4-4-2 is right. If we try that at City tomorrow we will get hammered. that said, I think we will get stuffed anyway !!

You mean like we should of done against Norwich, WBA and Wigan............ going on past AVB teams one up front and a negative approach rather than playing to our strengths and trying to cause Citeh problems.

If we play 442 and lose he will be branded as inadequate and being above himself with comparisons to how Celtic beat Barca etc. If we play 451 and lose he will branded as inadequate and not causing City enough problems.

Therefore it does not really matter which formation we use if we lose. The doombringers will tell us how he got it wrong and they are all so wise. ;)

If we win or draw though it will be 'lucky'

HAHAHAHA - You all make me laugh.

If he plays 442 with Adebayor and Defoe up Front and Bale on the Left Lennon on the right and we have a bloody good go at them I personally will be happy. In fact I'm willing to bet that if we play anywhere close to like we played most of last season we will beat them tomorrow but AVB isn't that adventurous.... theres a saying that goes Attack is the best form of Defence !!!!
The way we have been playing is like driving a Formula 1 car with the handbrake half on, all the power is there but we afraid to use it !!!!!

My preference would be for us to have a go and win it. But to say AVB is too negative is not justified. In many of our games we have shown good attacking adventurous play. There is more to us beating Man U than luck, we went for it. We also showed that against Chelsea. Wigan was the worst I have seen us play, but a bad game can happen.

What we do need to make sure of is that we can maintain that attacking mentally and keep playing to our strengths for the whole 90 mins. Which is an area I am critical of in regards to AVB, but hope he is learning from his mistakes.
Maybe next year...
