We should judge AVB at the end of the season. Don't forget we are 5th in the league, and as I've said with 5 players out.

And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

Be reasonable, please. We are not Chelsea. I very much doubt anything will happen before summer and probably nothing will happen then. Levy simply cannot boot out Villas-Boas and thus admit he was wrong to sack Redknapp. He wouldn't go that walk of shame.

The main problem is not so much the manager, its the players we have available to play the kind of football he is trying to play. No Parker, no Dembele, no Kaboul, and no striker of any consequence.
I once again would like to remind everybody of the last half of last season. Was it really any different ?? Bearing in mind we then had Modric, VDV and Adebayor all playing and still we were crap.
Until we sort out our CB pairing, bring in a top creative midfielder, and a top striker, then nothing will change, whether its AVB, Harry, or even Fergie at the helm. Agreed, AVB's persistence with one striker up front isn't working, but thats mainly because Defoe aint that great.

Being 5th in the league at this point in the season aint that bad, I know it would be way better to be first and ten points clear but that just isnt ever going to happen.

I dont think AVB sacking AVB is the answer it would just send us into turmoil, who would want to come here..... less money than Chelsea with equal risk no thanks.

I see Arry was mentioned I wouldnt want him back no way in hell!  I remember the latter part of last season and how we threw away 3rd place... oh but of course that wasnt arrys fault but us being 5th currently is down to AVB yeah right!

Our big issue right now is our squad depth, no creativity in midfield and relying on Defoe to get goals which he has always struggled to do.  We are missing Dembele and Parker and our back for need sorting right out!

Lets get the players right and i think AVB will take us where we expect to go as a club.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Agreed. When a new manager comes in we should give him support and wait until the end of the season to make a cautionary judgment.

I agree on the first part; but I don't think he was wrong sacking Mercenary Redknapp. He was only short term; to get us out of a hole.

It is nice to see some intelligent posts on here instead of moaning Millie’s and doom merchants.

He is Ramos MK2 mate. If Levy doesn't sack him, sooner rather than later, there is a decent chance we will struggle to stay up. Regardless of how good our squad may be, once a manger loses the dressing room, that's it.

So you remember Arry for the 6 poor weeks we had in four years, rather than the two 4th positions and one fifth position we achieved. As well as that we achieved the quarter finals of the champions league. He did all that with an average net spend of only £10m. The football was pure entertainment. If you honestly can't see AVB is a younger version of Ramos and Santini, you must be walking around with your eyes closed. AVB is making exactly the same mistakes as he did at Chelsea. If he isn't sacked soon, our season is as good as over !!

Anyway, I would like Moise, although we won't get him. Failing that, my pet Jack Russell could do a better job than the idiot we have at the moment.

Yeah 6 poor weeks which effectively ensured we didnt qualify for the champions league, lost modders became a less attractive offering to players that we could afford to strengthen, risked loosing Bale.  Those 6 weeks that if it wasnt for him thinking he had the England job and that THFC can f**k themselves cos he'll be ok we would have finished 3rd for the first time in the EPL and ensured CL footi, so again making progress.

I also remember Arry for continually playing Crouch and Defoe when they couldnt hit a barn door, for trying to bring the Beckham circus to WHL, for refusing a new contract when he thought he would get the England job but then knocking on levy's door on his knees when he didnt, after the damage was done and we all know what happened next.  Taxi for Arry!!

I also remember the good he done but it was time he went he has only himself to blame, and its not like the mercenary has been snapped up by a top club is it!

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

You can't judge after a few games; and those few games has put us fifth... equal points with 4th place.

You can only see AVB as a younger version of Ramos and Santini because you follow the propaganda of the media. Judge him by all means; but at least give him a fair crack at the whip. I think if any intelligent and fair minded supporter was told that we would be fifth at this time of season – with the injuries we currently have – they would have been delighted. The problem isn’t AVB but those fickle fans who don’t really understand football and how it works but just follows the blockheads and doom-mongers and rave loudly because they like to hear their own rant echoing back at themselves.

Even under Harry there were doom-mongers who were critical. If we win the double, including the European Cup some supporters will still find something to moan about.
We don’t want Ars*nals supporting Spurs but those that get behind the manager.

I am sure that if it wasn’t for the manner – and unfairness – that AVB left Chelsea you would be supporting him. But no, your easy pliable minds were turned and from there there was no way back.

So, a question to ones who would love to see our present manager sacked: Who do you expect to come in mid-season, pick up a unknown squad, apply new tactics and bring us the league title, the FA Cup and Europa League? And, don't say Harry Redknapp because that won't happen even if Villas-Boas would be sacked tomorrow morning.

I am not even sure if it is worth consideration as I just do not think it will happen before the end of the season. However, if it did occur then we can only realistically hope to attract a manager that is not currently in a job. So that leaves Harry Redknapp (I agree with Riff, no chance), Kenny Dalglish (too Scouse), Alan Curbishley (so long out of a job I do not think he will ever return), Glenn Hoddle (Too late), Tony Adams, Paul Ince, Iain Dowie,  (Too Sh!t),

Which leaves us with a risky choices but possible long shots - Nick Barmby, Ruud Gullit (I did say risky and long!)

Or the only real viable option - Rafa Benitez (but I am still not happy with this)

So if any of those wanting AVB out please can you tell us, who in your eternal wisdom, do you think would bring guaranteed success?
Maybe next year...
