Injuries?
« on: October 05, 2012, 06:38:53 AM »
For some reason the official site has stopped uploading team news. Does anybody know why Adebayor is not playing? Is he injured? And I remember Scott Parker was supposed to return after the international break in September but there have been no reports whatsoever.

(I'm sorry, it might seem a stupid question but I have no access to English football programmes.)

Adebayor is recovering from a hamstring injury, and might be available for the Villa game. We sure could use him, though I doubt he is match fit.
Parker had an op back in August I think, don't know how its going.

Good site for an indication about the injury situations.
Pity there isn't an update for Parker as I'd like to see him back in action
soon.

No problem :)

As for the Parker situation. With some injuries, there are tried and tested treatments that usually see a player return by an expected date. Inflamed muscles and breaks are far easier to deal with within a known window. Occasionally they can recover more quickly or take a little longer. However, with some injuries the complications are too variable to predict, so no return date can be set until recovery has been assessed. They may also have more than one problem and may need to come through one aspect of the injury before than can solve the other.

Parker's injury requires a slow recovery, building up the strength gradually. If he comes back too soon he risks further damage. I had a heel injury and it has taken me months to recover from, have to treat it with kid gloves now too.
Maybe next year...
