If we finish top 4 I think Baldbloke should definitely have to have an AVB tattoo! Are you up for it Baldie?
Maybe next year...

It is fair to say that the game against Chelsea did not go as I hoped. Having gone behind to a typical Chelsea goal,  we fought back well to take the lead. It was always going to be a tough game. Chelsea are in fine form and playing the best football they have played in years. I think they will be title contenders come the end of the season. Mata, (wish we signed him) Hazard (likewise) and Oscar (didn't know about him) all played very well. Coupled with the loss of Bale, Parker, Dembele and Kaboul I felt we actually played well in patches and had a real go.

After taking the lead I wish we were able to hold them off for longer but how Mata's strike was not stopped by one of the three players in it's path I do not know. Vertognen is looking a class act and when Benoit and Kaboul return, I think our defence will be solid.

Even before the cock up at the end, I thought Walker had the worst game I have seen him play. He seems to have lost a bit of confidence. His passing was awful and his decision making even worse. I not convinced with Sigurdsson, he just has not yet shown a piece of magic, that sets him above the rest, he is a good player but nowhere near the class of Modric, we need a bit more creativity from midfield.

On a good note however, it was lovely to see Ars*nal playing like a bunch of Sunday Leaguers, I would like to say that they will have no chance finishing in the top four, but my fingers have been burnt too many times to make such a prediction. Only baldbloke makes predictions that bad.
Maybe next year...

I expected the Chelsea game to end in a defeat especially when I saw we were missing Bale and Dembele, with no real quality on the bench to come on and change a game.  Chelsea for me are currently the best team in the EPL with regards to squad depth, talent and how they are playing at teh moment.

I think had certain players such as Bale, Parker, Dembele, Kaboul been available the outcome could have been different.

Sigurdsson is not our answer for a playmaker and midfield magician, i think we were really hopeful on get Moutinho but failed, Sigurdson is average at best and cant put away chances either.  Maybe as the season goes on he will settle and become that player we want but................

What is it with Thudd is he trying for a club record with regards collecting cards, come on lad sort it out!
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

It's all quite interesting on how things are turning out. AVB has managed to get exactly the same amount of points as Arry for the same fixtures. As usual we have awful injury problems with Parker, kaboul, Bembeli and Echotto out. I am totally disgusted that Bale didn't play. It's not as if he could deliver the child himself, and it's not as if it wouldn't be there after the game. This showed a lack of commitment, and he has gone down in my estimation. Unfortunately Siggerson and Bempsey have been bid disappointments up to now, and the return of the Hudd has been a big flop. In short, we have a very good, but very shallow squad. Levy needs to be tied down in January and have his cheque book taken off of him.  Without a further influx of quality players I predict a mid table finish, based on the fact we can't avoid injuries !!
AVB OUT, AND TAKE LEVY WITH YOU

Seriously, what the f**k is wrong with you people? Do you have to insult each other all the time? And sorry for not spotting the "sounding like a woman" part, baldbloke had quoted another post and you replied to it.

We should put this thread to rest.

I don't mind putting it to rest. However, I was liking the rolling analysis of the recent matches players, play, tactics and personal opinions of the game and how our season looked as a whole.

I did not expect it to go down the bitching route about babies being born and insults and comments on how a man should live his life.

I bow to your judgement Riff, but if you do want to kill it, can you set up a thread where we are able to discuss such serious critiques?
Maybe next year...

Personally I think AVB is a good manager. He needs a few more players but overall he is doing a good job. Chelsea panicked when they sacked him; it is because of his that they won the European cup. Chelsea’s loss will be our gain. Give him time and support.
I’ve lived a life that’s full. I’ve travelled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

Voice, I agree, We will see our manager progress as the season goes on.
And frankly I don't believe Di matteo will keep Chelsea at the top beyond Christmas.

I agree but I don't think the problem would be Di Matteo but their Russian owner. He has sacked some good managers - including AVB - while he's been in charge. What is important for a club is stability. Chelsea has money but not stability.
