Sure I read somewhere that Martin Jol was looking to sign Huddlestone
I, for one, would not like to see him leave...your thoughts?

Huddlestone can be a good squad player for us but a guaranteed first XI player at Fulham. That's the difference. I'd like to see him stay, though.

Defintely a good squad player.  Would provide good cover at centre back as well, in a sweeper position.  He will never be a dominant midfield player who can control games yet has the passing ability of Hoddle.

Awwwwwrrrrrright Bolty?

My thought on THudd is that he is not likely to get sufficient game time at the Lane this season. There is no way that AVB would trust a player who, for all his admirable qualities, rather famously totally lacks mobility, as the pivot of his midfield, when he has been ut for a year with injury. Loaning him will give AVB more of an opportunity to see if he is recovered enough from his injury to withstand the rough-and-tumble of the EPL, while giving the ald an opportnity to get his match fitness back.

If he has a future at the Lane he can be brought back, and if not, he is in the shop window. As I understand it (subject to correction from anyone better informed), we will be able to recall at Christmas.

If we keep selling players at the rate we are the moment he might be the only one left at Christmas !!!
I think we are underestimating Tom he could still do a job for us and at Stoke all he's going to do is be looking up at the ball as it flies over his head not gonna get much match practice there !!

I thought Huddlestone was only out on loan.
The idea of this allegedly is for him to get more game time than he would at the lane.
This way long term his fitness and match time would improve whilst having his wages paid by somebody
else.
Then next season  .........

Unfortunately, Tom is one of a number of players who arrived with great aplomb, then never made the grade, similar to Bentley Jenas Bassong Hutton Gomes and more.

To all the Levy bashers, is it any wonder he is more cautious these days ?

Injuries have hampered the careers of Huddlestone, Jenas and Bentley.
