The facts are he was our best manager since Nicholson and Levy sacked him !!!!

Keith burkinshaw won two f.a cups , a uefa cup , took us to the league cup final when it was still worth winning and had us  in europe every season from 1981 until he resigned so i think he might take that title uggs !

Yes Ok, but Burkinshaw had 8 years in charge and didn't win anything until his 4th season in charge, in fact he got us relegated in his first season only just making it back to the first division the following season behind Bolton and Southampton. I know because I watched most of those seasons from the terraces as a 10 and 11 year old !!!!

So 'Arry avoided relegation in his first season and next year would of been his 4th season ........

Either way 'Arry has been our best manager for the last 25 years and Levy sacked him for a man that hasn't got the balls or ability to control a dressing room at a big club .........period !!!!!!

Here here, a man that speaks using is head and NOT his heart. I think I can speak for UGS, when I say we would both love to be proved wrong about AVB. However the reality of things certainly indicates that AVB is more than likely going to cock things up. The real shame is that our useless chairman can't see it.

What a ridiculous thread this is. Call yourselves Spurs supporters? AVB is now our manager get over it. True fans will get behind him and the team. He wasn't my first choice but as part of MY club that I have followed for over 40 years (32 as a season ticket holder) he will get my FULL support. Can't believe so many people are still so blind to Harry's inadequacies.

All together now.....................AVB's BLUE AND WHITE ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On and on and on this thread goes .........
But face up to it guys ... With "Super Harry"   we won absolutely Nothing!!!!
Yes 4th and other good positions in the league, good run in the C/L but we won
Nothing. Sadly couldn't even rate us as the best London side over his period in charge.

Using your logic, I presume you still want Ramos then. As he was the last manager to win anything.

What Arry achieved was a very good win rate, as well as supplying great entertaining football. I go to Spurs for excitement and to watch my team win. Under Arry this happened more often than not. I went to away games ans actually watched Spurs win, because we played positive football. Watching Spurs under Arry was so different to anything else I have seen for many many years.

Unfortunately all some people can see is his faults. Yes, he wasn't the most tactically astute manager, and what he was thinking about at Villa last year is anybody's guess. The fact is that he should be judged by what he did for the club. We once again became one of the top teams in the country. When was the last time that happened ??????????????????????????????????

What I am finding hard to understand is why you were not so positive about Harry Redknapp whilst he was actually in charge? It seems that you just like to point out the negatives and tell everyone how good it used to be. You spent all season telling us we would end up 5th, no hope for anything better, doom gloom all the way. Now you are telling how fantastic it all was, a touch hypocritical I feel.
Maybe next year...

The reason I believed we were going to be fifth (and we nearly were) is because of Levy's lack of ambition. We needed to buy at the right time, and didn't. As a result Arry was forced to go out and get a few "has beens" on free transfers. The attitude from our so called chairman has created a negative culture throughout the club. Arry was the best thing to happen to Spurs for many years, and unfortunately was never given the support he deserved. He took us to 4th twice, with an annual net spend of only £12m. I think you will agree that in prem terms that is peanuts !!

I agree with that. Just didn't think you directed your misgivings solely on Levy.
Maybe next year...

                    He’s so Keane on AVB

AVB FAN ... Robbie Keane From PAUL JIGGINS in LA Last Updated: 26th July 2012 2
ROBBIE KEANE is backing Andre Villas-Boas to lead Tottenham to greatness this season.
The former Spurs striker gave his old club’s new boss his blessing after playing against them for LA Galaxy.

Keano, who skippered the MLS outfit to a 1-1 draw yesterday, said: “I have spoken to some of the Tottenham players.

“They are training really hard but they are also really liking it.

“Harry Redknapp did a tremendous job but for whatever reason he left and now in Andre they have a top, top boss.

“It didn’t go too well for him at Chelsea but I’ve spoken to a lot of players who have worked with him and the guy’s training sessions, his attention to detail, are second to none.

“I’m sure the guy will do a great job. He certainly has the players to do that. I spoke with him before the game and told him the players and staff are 100 per cent behind him.

“He’s at a great club with great owners who will look after him.”

There appears to be general support for AVB from quite a few players.

We should be happy we only drew because most of the times we've had a good pre-season, the season has started awfully.

You learn far more from defeats (and draws) than victories. Get the defeats out of the way early. The pre-season before Harry came we won every friendly we played, then picked up 2 points in our first 8 league games bringing an end to the Ramos era.

True. Remember the pre-season when Bent was unstoppable?

Might have only drawn with LA Galaxy and now Liverpool but they were friendlies with numerous substitutions.
Having watched both games there are positives to take away from both.
