Champions League should be for the Champions otherwise change it's name too the Just Missed Out On Being Champions League !!!
Actually, considering the name, only the winners of leagues and national cups should go into Champions League because runner-up and finishing third or fourth does not count as champions. UEFA could change the tournaments title to No More Than Four Teams From Each Country League.

Yes we do deserve Champions League football BUT because of a ruling caused by another English club we have been denied. All that apart we managed to finish in 4th place in the Premier League which in any nomal season would, wrongly in my opinion, guarentee us Champions League football.

The big problem is that we should of finished at least 3rd but as is our way at Tottenham we managed to contrive to bollocks it right up!!!! The thing is we are a different beast from the likes of Chelski, Woolwich Wanderers, Man Ure and Saudi Citeh because we fail to possess one thing they all have and we have as fans been begging for for years now. What is this wonderous missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle..... a genuine 25 goal a season f**king ugly hard nosed I don't give a s**te how I get them goalscorer. We have been crying out for one as fans and watching Bale, Lennon, Modric, Van der Vaart, Walker, BAE etc etc etc playing balls into the box and then watching them harmlessly drift wide with no one attacking them in a Lillywhite shirt is criminal.

The sad thing is if we had made Champs Legue this season we may just well of managed to grab one but I fear now as has been said by others Chelski wining that game last night may well set us back 10 years if we are lucky maybe even more if we are unlucky.

To be honest I feel numb about the whole thing like winning the lottery then losing your ticket, I'll be amazed if we start next season with anything near the same starting 11 as this season and even more surprised if we manage to get anywhere near the top 5.

I know its probably the wrong time to express these feelings so soon after all thats happened but I just don't think my feelings on the matter will change.

Ugs, you hit the nail bang on the head. Ars*nal finished 3rd because they have RVP. Chelsea won CL ultimately because Drogba scores vital goals.( and they succesfully play park the bus football ) We do not have a match winner. It has been overlooked ever since Harry has been manager, though to be fair to him he has tried with Crouch and Ade.

We haven't had that for while. Even Keane and Berbatov weren't guaranteed. They were spectacular to watch at times, but most of that impressive goal tally was against weaker opposition. We're s**t against United and Chelsea. We've had some good results against Ars*nal and Liverpool. Recent poor ones, obviously with the prior, but our consistency is horrendous still and we don't have a bench of players eager to prove themselves, we've got half the squad out on loan, looking to go elsewhere or injured.

We should have beaten City, but I doubt that's going to happen again soon. The frustrating thing is that somehow Newcastle have signed someone like Cisse, who can't stop scoring. What the f**k happened to our scouting network? I really don't think Redknapp expected to be Spurs manager next season. Look at the signings he's made.

This could get really messy. We've got players coming back from loan who don't want to be there. Ade going back to City. Missing out on CL money and financial "fair" play rules. We can complain about not having a striker now, but where would we have been without Adebayor this season?

Spurs blew it end of conversation!

With regard to next season not sure where we go certainly need a couple of strikers, easy said than done!
At least 1 new centre back (bring back Kaulker from Swansea!)
Hold on to all our best players.

Truth is though we wont attract the big players because of the wage structure and No Champions lge

Just hope we dont sign Michael Owen!!! (would not bet against it though ;) !!!!!)

Who did we entice when we qualified for CL in 2009/10????????  I can't remeber either?

We havn't bought a decent striker in the last 4/5 years, maybe longer?  Just go and buy quality players for a change.  Take the money for Modric, VdeV and Niko can fill in for him.  We have Sandro, Parker and Livermore. Convert Hudd back into his original position as a defender (a la Bobby Moore) and were up and running again. Our only chance of winning the Prem is if we are not in the CL. Let the youngsters and the lads who need games play in the Europa.

In my opinion we do not deserve CL football. We blew when it mattered the most. Just think that, had we drawn against Ars*nal, we would hav finished above them.  It's as simple as that.

I believe that Modric will leave and that we will not get the players associated with us before the CL final. We will resume whts we have done for the past 2 decades and that we will plod along mid table with average players.

depressing but facts

In the same way that Wenger has done over the years, we have to source players abroad who want to come here, eg Verthongen so it would seem, and then up their game in the same way Harry did with Bale and Modric. Then sell them for mega bucks and start again. There is no other way.

Things are looking grim indeed. I believe we will be playing in Conference by 2017 if we sell Bale and/or Modrić.

Blimey I was miserable enough at the prospect of sliding into mid-table obscurity.

What? Spurs will be omitted from the Johnsone's Paint Trophy because amateur sides cannot compete.

Yes we do deserve champions league football as we finished 4th
No we don`t because we made a total bollocks of our last 13 games
Yes we do as we were a better team than chelsea all season

It could go on until this time next year .What i can`t understand is that  , in this situation , aren`t we deserving of an extra place in the champions league ? English clubs have either won it , been in the semi`s or runners up for the last 7-8 years .I absolutely agree that chelsea should be in the competition next year as holders , even though they spoiled their way to the final , but surely english teams have done enough to be given the rub of the green ??? Spain has only got two decent teams , italy three at the most , germany one and france  the same .Surely scotland should have only one team competing as their league is an absloute joke !
If your not spurs you`re dead to me

Surely it should be, The holders and then how ever many others are needed. So if for example Barcelona are winners then the 5th placed team in Spain also qualify as the holders are already in and the holders place is a given. This only seems to happen to English clubs as you can name the top 4 in other countries before a ball is kicked and lets face it the Latvian Champions are not going to win the damn thing so it is unlikely to become an issue in countries like that (with all due respect to any Latvian readers.) They must have changed the rules quite recently as when Liverpool won it they finished 5th and Everton 4th and Everton were still allowed in albeit they failed to get past the qualifying round

Maybe Mr Levy should have a word with Uefa about allowing us to compete in the CL... ;)

Maybe somebody already has had a word with Platini as UEFA could review the controversial rule  that will keep us out of C/L .. but the rule change would not be for at least 3 years!!!!
