Hold on, wait a minute 'Arry hasn't taken the job and just because everyone says 'Arry should be the next England manager it dosen't mean that he will be !!

One things for sure Daniel Levy will not let 'Arry go without a fight and getting the absolute best for Spurs. If he goes and thats a big if in my opinion then we will have to wait and see who's available, Moyes and O'Neill both have jobs with other Premiership clubs so you can pretty much rule them out, Mourinho no thanks were already special enough, Capello not in a million years to stiff and disciplined and Hiddink has an affinity with Chelski.

Personally I think our next manager will be Harry Redknapp..... but if he does go which I think is unlikely I'd take Chris Hughton.

That all made sense until you said Chris Houghton. He was a dreadful assistant  manager, why the hell would you want him as manager ?
Agreed. Sentiment aside, he presided over the worst defence I can remember.

Exactly he was an assistant manager, look at the job Chris Hughton has done at Newcastle and now at Birmingham both with difficult situations to cope with. On top of that he is an ex player and knows the club inside out also knows the chairman etc etc etc...... theres alot of worse appointments I can think of !!!!
Hughton is Spurs through and through, but he is to inexperienced to take us into the Champions League. We need somebody with a good pedigree and the knowledge of how to cope at the higher level we now find ourselves at. For me that man is Mourinho but I dont think we will get him as we wont pay what he demands nor will we give him the transfer kitty he would insist on. The timing of all this is very bad for us. I was resigned to losing Harry in the summer, but this could mess up what has been a great season so far. Hopefully Harry will stay to the end of the season and then hand over with us in a strong position to make us an attractive proposition to the top Managers.

Cuz he's done such a great job with us Yanks...

seriously, I love Klinsmann, I've nothing against him... but i think he was a better player than he was a manager. I'm currently hoping that AVB gets sacked from Chelsea soon so we can snatch him up if 'Arry goes for the England job.

I know, I know... who wants the manager of a team below us... but here's the why part; our boys actually fit his system. Walker and BAE as attacking wing backs, Parker Sandro and Mods in the middle, Bale, VdV, and Lennon on the wings... Chelsea has only 1 player to give them width, that's Mata. Against the Toffees today, he ran out Torres, Mata, and Sturridge up top with Lamps, Meireles, and Essien behind... that's a lot of lads down the middle. Moreover, most of that team was bought by Mourinho, Ancelotti, and other DEFENSIVE-minded managers, who wanted to just boot the ball up and down the pitch and let their quality make the difference. Chelsea can't do that anymore; AVB likes to play tactical football, and those players just aren't up to it. I think our lads will be, since the way AVB wants his team to play is very much how we already do.

^going by this, Redknapp isn't the FA's first choice, although they do rightly say that he's done a bang-up job with our beloved Spurs.

Klinsmann's return could be similar to Hoddle's tenure and we all know what happened back then. Let him stay the legend he is.

If you actually read round all the reports, infinite quotes and speculation it isn't a fore gone conclusion that the FA are actually going to approach 'Arry or that 'Arry is actually going to take the job.

There's a lot more to this situation than meets the eye and is far from a simple solution. Firstly 'Arry has made it very clear that his focus is on Tottenham at the moment and that it would be an honour to be considered for the Englend job, and he would give it consideration! Since his trial he has been very guarded about his wording regarding the position, his wife Sandra has been ill recently due to the stress and strain of the trial, and we all know that 'Arry won't do anything that will upset his wife and family. The England job is basically constant press speculation and media intrusion and for a very private family man this may prove to be a problem, especially if it affects Sandra. Also you got to remember that if 'Arry wasn't to take the job he would probably become the most hated manager in England, but if he takes the job he will eventually almost definitely become the most hated manager in England (remember Bobby Robson, everyone loved him but eventually he was hounded out).

Also there is the question of compensation for Spurs that at the moment is being banded around at anywhere between £10 - £15 million, the FA as everyone knows isn't exactly flush with money and with Wembley and it's costs this figure may just be too much. This may actually force the FA to cut their cloth accordingly and go for a cheaper option that they could afford, amongst their ranks they have Stuart Pearce and Gareth Southgate who are both a lot younger and could be employed as England manager at a fraction of the cost..... something that may be considered.

And Finally and probably the most difficult and problematic hurdle to overcome... Daniel Levy, who we know from the Luka Modric incident of last summer does not give in easily and if he dosen't get the right deal for Spurs will just dig his heels in and be as stubborn as a Jackass in concrete .

This senario is far from over and even if 'Arry does want the job he may not get it anyway due to circumstances beyond his control...

At this moment I would think there's more chance of 'Arry staying than going but things could change........ but hell let's hope not.

And AVB has done such a great job with Chelsea has he??

Actually, given the huge changes that AVB has tried to make given the type of team Chelsea was under Ancelotti and Grant (and Mourinho), I think he's done a good job. Also, as i said above, Chelsea's really built to be a 4-4-2 team, whereas I think we're much better suited to play his 4-3-3 system; if you need proof, he tried to put Torres out on the wing earlier in the year. He's starting to adjust his strategy for Chelsea's strengths, but he's just not working with a team that fits his style.

Klinsman's never been the hottest coaching commodity out there, and if you recall AVB was last summer. I still believe he's a good coach, he just needs a team that is built more for his style... like Spurs.

Anyways, this is all pure speculation, as 'Arry is our manager for now, and i'll stand behind him as long as he's here.

As has been correctly pointed out, we are now at a different level, beyond our wildest dreams TBH. Therefore, if Harry does get offered the job, and leaves at the end of the season, assuming a major disaster hasn't occured, we will be in CL again, and in a real position to challenge fo the prem next year.
All this assumes that we do not lose the nucleous of our squad, and strengthen where needed.
Our next manager will need to be all things that Harry has been, and I cannot see the likes of Klinsmann and Hughton being this, despite my obvious affinity to them as former great players. After all, Hoddle was a great player !!
One way or the other, Harry and the FA need to make up their minds, and soon. Our club need to know where they stand.

The rumour mill continues to turn so how about this one hot from
the press.....

"However, Juventus coach Antonio Conte is apparently the real favourite for the Spurs job. The 42-year-old former Italy international midfielder has guided the Old Lady on a 30-match unbeaten Serie A streak."

I know, I hear you all, Harry hasn't gone. and hopefully won't but ...........

I am sure Levy has a number of targets to replace Arry, lets face it with all Arrys verbals in the media about teh England job aimed to constantly remind the FA that he would accept if offered we have to accept that he will be off IF offered the England job.

Personally I think the job will go to Stuart Pearce and Arry not even get offered the job, would love Arry to stay with us and continue building on the progress we have made in the past few years as long as his heart stays in it that is!

If Arry goes Levy must try to get big head Mourinho I hate the bloke but he is just what we need if Arry goes to lift the players and show the rest our intentions.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Let's be honest, there are only a few managers in the entire world that can do a job as good or better than Arry. I won't bother to mention them, just trust me, we won't get them though.

The fact is IF Arry goes, and that is far from done and dusted, we will have to accept the fact we will get a lesser manager. That in turn probably means we will lose  at least two of our best players, and some re-building will need doing. Being the pessimist I am, I believe mid table mediocrity is on it's way back !!

I agree, the next Managerial appointment is crucial. If we dont get a guy who can excite the current squad and attract top players we will slip backwards at an alarming rate. We are only just becoming a top side and that position is very fragile. Now is not the time to hold on to the purse strings if we are to progress we will need to spend, and spend big on both Manager and squad. It's a bit of a gamble for sure but to do otherwise is to throw away all we have achieved under Harry.
