Great news !!! Now Harry, lets get on with the job and steer Spurs to their 2nd CL in 3 years. Then Levy MUST reward Harry with a bumper new contract, and give him the money to buy the players we need so that we really can challenge for the prem.. Bugger off England job.

Great news surly.

Why would he want to leave a team thats arguably playing the best football in the premiership, most say have the best squad in the premiership,on the verge of champions league football again and in the next season or two serious title contenders, to take over that poisoned chalice(england job).

If he leaves i,ll be very very disappointed.

To be honest, Redknapp would be stupid not to take the England job when offered. Maybe he could carry on managing Spurs as well. He is pretty much used to travelling to other clubs' games anyway and England only play about 10-12 matches a year. :D

Nobody has ever managed club / country at same time, so far as I know. Conflict of interest surely

Good old Harry,
proved the doubters wrong who in a previous topic  already had him banged up even before the
trial had commenced.

Why would he leave Spurs to become England manager if he was offered the post?
For a bigger challenge and country has to be better than club!!!!

Surely, the biggest challenge of all is to win the prem ? Wheras with England, he will only ever be as good as the players he can pick, and we all know what that lot are like.

With my Spurs hat I would hate to see him leave. The change in our team, the way we play and the relative success; has left us with a side we can be proud of and have confidence with. If he left now I would seriously worry if the next manager in would be able to continue this development.

My England hat though, says he is by far the best man for the job. Yes it is a poisoned chalice but one that any person (England fan) would accept. For this reason he will find it hard to turn it down. Even though his loyalty has been strengthened by Levy's, his colleagues and of course us fans' support of him.

The best solution in the short term would be for him to take the job for the Euros. Then after that he and the FA could make an informed decision as to what should happen next. He may then be able to take both roles for next season and would only have to leave one post (with a clause in the contract that gives both parties a free get out), if either party or HR felt he was unable to give it 100% to both roles.
Maybe next year...

Capello has now quit, so we will have to see what happens next. Funny that this breaks straight after Redknapp is cleared of all wrong doing. Some might say that the FA were waiting for the result and then helped him out of the role. (or even more cynically: they had an agreement after the World cup fiasco)
Maybe next year...

I really hope Harry stays with us until the end of the season.

Let Stuart Pearce look after England in the short term.

But suspect for the Euros Harry will be in charge and yes you have guessed it Scott Parker
as Captain!!!!!

Even Hiddink managed Russia and Chelsea at the same time.

I cant see why Harry would want to take the England job, as Spurs manager he is taking a great club , who are clearly on the up and playing the best football in the prem, to the top! all he will get if he manages England is slated in the press for every poor England performance.
stay where you belong Harry, you know it makes sense!

Of course you as a spurs fan cannot see why he would want to take the job. BUT as an England fan it is not so difficult. HR may love being at spurs but he is not a spurs fan. As a kid he would have dreamed to play for his club and country and as a man(ager) to win the title and manage England. He would not be given another chance at England, but could still return to club management.

Maybe next year...
