Trouble at the lane!
« on: September 13, 2011, 12:36:05 PM »
There something going down at the lane...there trouble ahead....it started with the whole Modric carry-on..now it seems that Levy and Harry are not on speaking terms...Sandro signed a new deal that Harry knew nothing about and now Harry has left Van Der Vaart out of the f**king Europa League squad...VDV is saying on his personal website that Spurs didnt even consult him they just left him out.

Its going to turn into a soap opera before the season is out i think...you can feel something big is boiling!!

Very much reminds me of the autumn of 2007 when Jol was booted out and the autumn of 2008 when Ramos lost the plot. God, I hope we won't have to go through all this s**t again.

At the same time it could be nothing. Football is run by businessmen nowadays and therefore it is hardly surprising that Redknapp doesn't necessarily know who is being sold and who is signing a new contract. And considering van der Vaart's injury-proneness I'm not too disappointed about the Europa League...

Time to sack the clown....

Which one? The one who made a nice profit and left us paper-thin for the season?

I must admit I was suprised to read about VDV being upset about being left out of Europa squad as Harry has stated it will be used to blood the kids from the day we qualified for it. VDV says the English dont take it seriously which is true I suppose. But you have to consider that we get 4 CL spots so it really is, for us, the also rans competition. I imagine it has more credibility in Countries who get less CL spots or who have no teams in the CL whatsoever. But for us it will always be a lesser competition. At the end of the season VDV will have to ask himself would he rather have had a good rest and qualified for next seasons CL or have won a trophy that nobody cares about and finished 7th or 8th in the Prem. I haven't seen our Europa squad so I wonder if any of our other big names have been ommitted. I doubt Defoe is in it as I recall Harry said he was busy on Thursdays.

Well, to be honest, we've won the bloody thing twice and once lost in a final, so it is not as pointless as people like to think.

Yes but that was when you qualified by finishing 2nd or 3rd or winning a cup. Not finishing 5th or having the least yellow or red cards. It has a value of sorts and when/if we get through the group stage we will probably take it more seriously. At the moment it is a distraction we can do without and it makes sense to save our better players for the serious buisness of the Prem.
I've had a look at the squad now and it seems I was wrong Defoe is in it. The only notable ommisions are VDV and Friedel so it looks like Harry is taking it seriously after all.

And how exactly do you expect it to help us mid-season? Don't change horses in midstream... unless they're dead.

Businessmen or not, you still consult your manager before handing out new 5 year deals to players...surly its the managers decision(or at least they sit down together an talk about it) who goes/stays and who gets new deals also...Levy is starting to act like Abramovich now imo...how long will it be before he starts telling Harry who to play each week?...its getting pretty clear now that Harry an Levys relationship has soured over the Modric affair and now Levy is handing out contracts to players without asking the manager.

Harry also stated last week that players where making it hard for him and the club, with them refusing to go on loan/be sold...there is troubling times ahead if you ask me....there something going on that will probably come out soon enough!

Leaving Rafa out of the group stages seems obvious to me. Why risk (arguably) your best player when he hasn't demonstrated 90min match fitness or durability? On top of that he was supposed to be injured for 2 months. Why would you waste a spot on someone who won't play?
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*

Not a done deal that Redknapp will get the England job, what the press say and what the FA say are two different stories!
I cant believe some of the negative comments on here re Rednapp maybe the club should bring back Ramos or even Christian Gross!!! and then there would be somthing to moan about.

As for Levy well you cant say he has not spent money!!!

My thoughts on the Europa Cup----- Waste of time to many games clubs that no one has heard of untill the final rounds, Premier lge--- Champ Lge--- FA Cup-- forget the rest!!!!
 Rant over!!

At last a sensible voice on the whole situation, at this point no one knows who will be in charge of England and going on past appointments you can't guarentee anything.

As for 'Arry lest not forget where we were before he came, if I heard the What's the difference between Spurs and a triangle so called joke again I was going to throttle someone !!!!

History has proven that teams that keep their manager and allow them to manage have success, agreed its varying degrees of success but success it is !!!!

Be careful what you wish for...... you know the rest !!!!!
