Interesting quote from Roy Hodgson on Sky yesterday " Managers are measured on results, not performances". Too damn right ! Sums up our season perfectly.

So 5th in arguably the best League in the world and a quarter final in the Champions League is not results enough for you.

We lost out on 4th to a team that have spent over £200 million in a season on players and god knows how much more on wages, the other 3 have been permanent fixtures there for the last decade. We finished above the team that we replaced in  the top 4 and beat them for the first time away in 17 years. We won away at the Woolwich Wanderers and far from disgraced ourselves in the Champions League. We also have the footballer of the Year in our side and a squad that most teams would die for !!!!!

No wonder 'Arry feels so frustrated and calls us fools and idiots, injuries and strikers in poor form have cost us this season, we have created hatfuls of chances in almost every game we played but our strike force just haven't delivered. Blackpool was the prime example 33 chances created, 17 on target 3 cleared off the line and we lose 3-1, 'Arry sends them over the white line with his instructions and the players have failed to deliver.

This season has been a good season, one of the best for the last 40 years, I know I've watched Spurs for longer than that both from my armchair and on the terraces as a season ticket holder and trust me we don't want to go back to where we were. Most of you won't remember us goinig down in 1976 I do, and 'Arry's record speaks for itself get off his back and let him do the job.

To many draws that should have been wins turned what could have been a great season into an ok one. The loss of last seasons goals from our strikers should have set alarms ringing in January and steps taken to improve matters. The Champions League was a great diversion ( lets face it we were never going to win it ) and is a bit of a smokescreen for the poor form since xmas. I get the feeling the shine has started to come of Harry's halo, and he will need to make some astute signings to regain the faith of the fans. I dont want him to go he is doing a decent job, and there is no obvious candidate to replace him, but he really ought to learn to keep his mouth shut at times as insulting the fans is looking to start a fight he cant win. 30,000  fans shouting for the managers head every week is not something a Chairman can ignore for long and if that happens at The Lane there will only be one outcome.

Only stating what Hodgson said as it is relevent to some posts on here and creates debate which is what this forum is all about. As Taime has quite correctly stated, Harry needs to rekindle some faith, so the summer dealings will either demonstrate where we are going, or where we have been from.

So we're blaming Man City again? It's our strikers who are to blame and also the board for not buying someone.

Exactly, the season's over and what done is done. Things we're not perfect but when have they been for Spurs? We are in Europa League next season and considering that we've won the thing twice I am satisfied and excited. Just let this thread fade away... Enough is enough.

No harm in continuing the debate, especially as we don't have any football to talk about  :'(

I know it hasnt even been over for a week and guys like you Spurs 218 are away to remember what Saturday afternoon shopping with the wife is like (if your married of course)

I think the thread has actually been full of great posts from both sides of the HR debate.

Of course none of us have actually changed anyone else's opinion and we all go on believing only our views are correct  :smug:

It's like a poor mans Jerry Springers in here sometimes. If only we could have the voice of reason to come in and give us his final thoughts, perhaps we could declare a winner

:-[ Very true. Least we're in for more European tours   God knows where but I'm sure it will be fun.

Might have to just accept them and drag myself along, or just give her some money and say buy whatever you like  :nods: We're both winners then?

In the close season I often find myself at a Fete, or whatever other nonsense she has dreamed up to keep me occupied, gazing wistfully in the general direction of White Hart Lane. Wondering if I cant be put into a chemically induced coma that lasts from June to August. I've tried doing it myself with industrial strength lager but it just makes my head hurt and I end up feeling worse than when I started. I'm seriously considering taking up fishing since listening to Keith Arthur before the football show starts on Talksport on Saturdays and Sundays. It's that or paint the bloody shed like she keeps going on about, but if I do that I fear she may have a list of other tasks stored up should I show the slightest interest in home improvement.
