I am not sure if this has been discussed before but it occurred to me the other day that Jose has always been very complimentary towards Spurs as a club and the direction we have been heading. I know that in football anything is possible, so is it too much to imagine that HR stays with us another year, we qualify for the champions league for the 3rd time in a row and is the most obvious choice to become England manager in 2012. Alongside this, Jose does not win the champions league with Real Madrid this year, but does win it the following year. He will then be ready for his next challenge.
Man Utd holds no challenge, carrying on Fergie's amazing record will not be easy but it does not further prove his ability. Chelsea is in the past, no point going back there. Man city only provides the same challenge as Chelsea did so again no furthering his CV. The only two clubs that provide a challenge is Ars*nal, Liverpool and ourselves. I personally believe he would relish the opportunity to take a club that hasn't won it before to the top and prove once again how effective his management style and coaching is.
The problem is that his playing style does not fit with our desire to see attractive, entertaining and exciting football. Would we be happy to concede on this desire, if the outcome was a premiership win, followed by success in the champions league?
