Will Harry's favoritism cost Spurs?
« on: April 03, 2011, 01:31:26 PM »
Its always been Harry's achilies heel - playing his favorite players i.e Defoe, Crouch even when they are playing poorly and not giving other quality players i.e Kranjcar, Pavyluchenko a chance to prove a point. Kranjcar has come on as a sub in recent games and scored winning goals. Pav was an inspiration at the end of last season scoring important goals so why oh why does Harry continue to put faith in players that are not in form??
If he continues picking these out of form favorites I believe it will cost us not only 4th spot this year but it will also leave players like Kranjcar with no option but to leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season. In addition if we don't sign at least 2 new strikers in the summer then I feel that we will only be playing for a place in the Europa cup next season but will Harry have the guts to sell Defoe and Crouch???

Yes.... Plain and simple.

Defoe is not the goal scorer he used to be, Way to inconsistent.

I have never rated Crouch or Defoe, remember both have been sold by us in the past..and why ???? JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Neither should be automatic first choice Crouch is handy as an impact sub and thats it, Defoe is just well wank his record this season is completely that!  We sold him before as his attitude sucked and his effort was shyte as he couldnt break down the berbatoss and Keane partnership.

Arry more than any other manager sticks by his personal favourites, look at old Whiskey nose he has and will drop the likes of Rooney when out of form and thats the difference between a world class manager which Fergie is and a journey man such as Arry.

Our failure to land a quality striker could cost us hugely, I am hoping that in the next 8 games we can still get 4th!

I still have faith in our lads and Arry.... but many are losing it and quickly!

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

I agree with all of that. Just think we did try to sign a striker but just didnt land anyone, could look to blame a few different people for that but we seemed to f*ck it up as usual. One great striker would have been the difference required.

Will Harry's favouritism cost Spurs? - Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     Lets go back into the bunker and come out again  in August, to see if we have a team worth worrying about! (without Bale, Modders, Lennon and Hudders!). Mark my words, we are bac in the wilderness after the Man City result - oh, to have a forward line.

Oh how quickly we forget let's all complain about 'Arry and his favourites, the same 'Arry and his favourites that have got us to the quarter finals of the Champions League and 5th in the Premiership.

Does anyone remember before 'Arry arrived and the joke about "What has a triangle got that Spurs haven't? - 3 points". We have come along way in the last 2 years and personally I think the club has improved so much its unreal, so we have been found wanting at the end of a long hard campaign..... that's not over yet !!!!

We signed Van der Vaart under 'Arry and have tried to sign strikers without much luck, Gareth Bale, Tom Huddlestone, Assou Ekotto  and Aaron Lennon have improved beyond compare and too top it all we play attractive free flowing football for most of the time.

Be careful for what you wish for because it might come true !!!!

I think that anyone calling for Redknapp's head should be patient, see what happens this season, see what happens in the transfer window and then see what happens next season. I currently think it would be insane to sack Redknapp. Patience is a virtue!

However if all of the following things occur I might reconsider:

We lose all our remaining games this season
We sell Modric and Bale in the transfer window
We use the Modric and Bale funds to bring in Dave Kitson in order to form a lethal partnership with Crouch up front
We find ourselves in a relegation battle next season with a record that makes the Ramos era look impressive
