He has been very poor in the games that he has played...i'll give him more time to settle in but atm i would play Niko before him.

I think it's too easy to say that certain players were poor against Milan yesterday. We were under so much pressure from them. It's hard to stand out playing well when you're pinned back almost the entire game. I think that Pienaar was involved in most of the attacks that we attempted. I think that every single player contributed to us getting the result last night.

Looking beyond last night, I think that Pienaar has performed well enough since joining. It can't have been easy to come in and play where Bale has been playing considering we've used Bale as one of our main attacking outlets for so many games. I don't think he's done particularly well when he's been told to switch flanks, but that's not really his fault. I do wish he'd get those snails off his head though.

I'm not sure if I consider him to be better than Niko, but it's good to at least have the option.

For a start I believe he is a box to box central mid-fielder and NOT a winger. His work rate is great and Arry loves that type of player. To sum things up I think he is a good squad player

when Crouch plays upfront with Vaart, the best tactic to use against Spurs is to push up your back4 as high as possible - cos neither Crouch nor Vaart will outpace defenders to balls played behind advanced backlines.... THAT'S why the game was inevitably played in our half for most of the game...

the only respite came when Vaart went off and Pav came on ....and Bale also provided more penetrative pace on the leftside enabling us to pose a threat 'in behind' and Milan had to drop off slightly..

Pienaar  >  Kranjcar........... that's why he ALWAYS starts ahead of Krankie..... deal with it.

there was the threat of Bale outpacing their defenders, if they played too high a line, as well as having Pav on for Crouch, that gave Milan 2nd thoughts about parking their back4 on the halfway-line...  :coolsmiley:
