Well we've all seen that solid display against Milan in both legs and also have seen him against Wolves lately

for me he is turning in some amazing performances and i hope he's going to be a regular from now on...

just wondering your thoughts on this young and exciting talent??

He has all the tools to be a top class midfielder although he is still a little raw and prone to misplaced passes. He has pace, strength and vision and above all excellent stamina which  he again proved  tonight with a gut busting performance. I thought the ref tonight was a tolerant one which suited sandros game which is open to conceding fouls due to his constant tackling. A great prospect and one who will be monitored by a lot of clubs over the coming year.

Sandro was emense last night and in the first leg.

He's taken his time to settle in to life in England but now he is showing exactly what he can do!

If he continues to play like that, he's the first name on the team sheet for me!

I have always been nervous of Sandro before. Prone to giving away free kicks and I thought he may be penalised (maybe unjustly as his strong tackles have been misinterpreted as aggression) in some dangerous areas, but he was superb. Well done to the whole team!

He was excellent last night but had to be to make up for yet another appalling performance from Jenas

considering how badly Modric played the whole game and that Jenas only played the last 20mins at a level of nearly everyone else, your assessment of his 'appalling' performance whilst turning a blind-eye to the great Modric, just destroyed what little credibility you had as even halfway intelligent...

Regaine can work wonders... try it

Jenas only played what 20 minutes if that and he was far from appalling mate, he did his job in there, containing Milan

Have to agree there. JJ did fine. He played his part, and we needed his range and overall skill set in the middle to assist Sandro, who had to be getting tired at that point in the game. I thought it was a smart substitution by Harry.

Modric didn't make any egregious errors that I recall, but he was largely ineffective. Pienaar didn't have much going forward althought he was fairly solid altogether, and Rafa wasn't on top form - but then again it was his first game back in a couple weeks.
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*

I thought modric was terrible and it was one of his worst performances for us. He gave the ball away on countless occasions. I think his form has been poor lately and the team has suffered greatly because of this especially in the epl. Our resurgence there will greatly depend on his form and that of sandros

I don't think Modric's form has been poor. I think he's been outstanding this season. He misplaced some passes, which is unusual for him, but I really don't even think he played all that badly last night. We were under huge amounts of pressure most of the game so he's not going to be able to orchestrate the game.

Modric's weaknesses were amply demonstrated against Milan... he gave the ball away numerous times and worse was his failure to repeatedly track his runner and allow them to penetrate at will whenever te ball was near him....

he is a good player that would grace a top-class team that others feared, as he would not have to defend much and have time/space to do the pretty stuff he is supposed to be good at - tho his general goals/assists to gametime ratio is very average for a player of his lauded reputation....
