Where we will be come May?
« on: February 26, 2011, 05:58:54 PM »
So, after one of the most frustrating nights against Blackpool, what does everyone really think we will have achieved at the end of the season? It is a labour of love being a Spurs fan - akin to being a battered wife. One moment the high of a momentous win at the San Siro, then our calamatous strikers (sorry, well I think thats what they are supposed to be anyway) cant tuck away a single chance against a side barely given a chance at the beginning of the season and we come away with nothing - absolutely nothing except the added dissappointment of totally screwing the opportunity to go third.
Personally, if we dont make the Top4, I would rather we finished 8th so that we dont have the embarrassment of playing in the B league in Europe for also-rans. The only problem is of course, that if we fail, I fear that we will lose some of backbone players - Bale/Modric and we will not attract the top players we need to establish ourselves as a serious European force. A dilema! Any views?

I have absolutely no idea where we'll end up this season. No prediction. Wouldn't it be boring if we won all the time, though?

Lol having only been a Spurs fan for 45 years I've not experienced that. But I would think it must get tedious watching your team lift a couple of big trophies every season. I console myself by thinking of the money I save not having to travel to exotic locations for finals. And the price of a pie at Wembley is a disgrace, so not playing in all those finals means I can save a few bob by just going to my local chippy.

My guess would 5th. The only thing I am certain of is that we won't get CL. We just have to many injuries to our top players and I still think we lack the belief. Our season ended when we lost to Fulham\ :-\

:2funny:..... 'supporters' like you are absolutely pathetic..

we are in contention for Top3.... Chavs have their problems with a bored disgruntled Drogba and having to shoehorn in Lampard into the midfield (the real midfielders at Chavski will love that), and a manager who knows he's gonna be sacked in the summer if he doesnt win the CL (slim-no chance there)...

Al Citeh will now have to reform their formation and take Tevez outta the centre-forward slot, to shoehorn in Dzeko (a good player but inferior to the one he replaced: Adebayor)......

we have Bale, Kaboul back soon..... things are actually not as bad as you chumps think (as much as youre able to)...

Hi Guys. Sorry about my posts. I must admit that I have been on a downer since the Blackpool game and I should get over it, so thanks for the wake up call. Before the game I really thought we would get the points - was just effing frustrating that our strikeforce couldnt put them away with all the chances we had. If Defoe and Pav can get a couple in the next game, I am sure they will get a load more!

I still reckon third is a high possibility. We have players returning from injury. We have a better spirit than City or Chelsea and a better squad and God is on our side.
Forget Blackpool And Fulham remember Ars*nal and Milan

my Al Citeh point well illustrated yesday..... Fulham outplayed them in their own backyard..

with Dzeko shoehorned into the centre-forward role, ahead of the better, more mobile Tevez, Citeh are now worse than without Dzeko.... thank God for his brace against Salonika midweek, making him look a good player for them and ensuring they keep him in the team....

I hope Vaart doesnt have a similar effect on Spurs for the rest of the season.... hopefully slight-injuries and Europe will keep him away from Prem games

Citeh are now finding it hard due to the expectation and as GK says 'having' to play certain players, this will cause them more problems than solutions.

After yesterday Woolwich Wanderers will have a big wobble hopefully it will be huge and Orient will knock them out of the Cup and Barcelona will do the same in the CL.

Chelski just seem to have run out of ideas and are suffering the same problem as Citeh having to play Torres, and now Arse Cole is looking like he is in trouble again

Second anyone ?

If Utd can beat Chelski tomorrow we will be back in the driving seat for 4th place. We need to get our strikers to perform between now and the end of the season though. We have to play all the top 4 contenders apart from Utd, so if we can achieve favourable results 4th or maybe higher should be possible.
