Andy Carroll or Gareth Bale?
« on: February 10, 2011, 07:51:58 PM »
Just read that R.Madrid are set to offer £35m for Gareth Bale come the summer. The same price that was paid for Andy(wifebeater) Carroll. Is this a joke? Does anyone else think that these two players should command the same transfer fee?  Discuss.

if he has the added skillset of wife-beating (tho whose wife I'm not sure) then surely Carroll should command the higher figure.... empirically speaking of course..... after all :-

I think bale is worth more.

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?

We shouldnt even consider selling Bale for 35 mill, he is worth far more to the team!

Carroll went for silly money cos Liverpool are silly f**kers trying prove that they can mix it in the transfer market with the big boys..... paying silly bollox money for a unproven player I hope it back fires on then as I f**king hate Liverpool
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Livpoo were gonna get 50m for Tourist so paying 35m on a younger, English, possible England centre-forward who is a possible iconic English football figure for the next decade, and who is white and photogenic (to appeal to Far-East fans and female fans) is probably not a net-loss position to take..

Bale is not a striker (tho he could be if he wanted to) therefore as a non-forward will not command the same value..... historically its vastly predominantly forwards that command the highest fees...

Carroll's value will not disappear overnight, so they will get most of their money back even IF he fails to continue with his 1 in 2 Prem strike-rate in a better team than he was in before...

Bale is a very good player.... but overhyped now and therefore also over-valued...

this summer will be the ideal time to cash in... 40m should do the trick

we complain angrily that we just lump it up to Crouch whenever he's in the team and turn into another Stoke.... then the same 'experts' drool about the possibility of getting the wife-beater in.... how do you think Arryboy plans to play with a 30m Crouch upfront ??

the logic of some is truly mind-boggling..
Blimey you've changed your tune useless lump to a iconic England Centre Forward in 12 days without playing a game. Anyway back to Gareth Bale, he is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for him. I'd hope that we would knock back any bid for Bale, Modric, Lennon, Dawson, Huddlestone and Van der Vaart as we are trying to build a team capable of challenging the best teams in europe.   IF and that's avery big  if then I would expect the club to only sell for a price over £60 million but like I've already said I don't think they will entertain any bids for Bale for the next year or two !!!!    :nope:

both of my posts you quoted are true...

the difference being that Livpoo is best suited to the type of longball play favoured by Carroll... they are not as slick in their passing/movement as our boys...

therefore Carroll and Livpoo are indeed a match made in heaven..
