We did today and I've heard mixed reviews about Pav's performance.

No I didnt see today's game due to work but maybe someone who did see the game can share their view on Roman

Snap mate due to Leeds Utd visiting the city and the predicted trouble I was on duty from 4pm so reviews of Pav please folks!

Hard crunching game. He did well for me, handled the pressure well and tried his best. Im sure he would turn on his game just like last season.

Although people still slagged about his passion and work rate, but i think his work rate was better than normal.

To be fair I thought both Pav and Defoe were poor yesterday, couldn't fault their effort but their end product was almost zero. I admit that this could be to do with the lack of supply due to Lennon, Bale, Modric and Van der Vaart not being involved but they both looked isolated and didn't link up at all. They probably need a run of 4 or 5 games together to get the understanding working again but at this stage of the season I can't see it happening !

I thought Defoe's movement was outstanding, especially in the 2nd half....

tactically, splitting the strikers to play wide on the flanks in the 2nd half,  and isolating their CBs, made the space for us to play in 2nd half...
