Top 4, F.A Cup or Champions League
« on: January 25, 2011, 10:20:49 PM »
With our injury list getting ever bigger yet again, from a supporters point of view what is priority?  securing a top 4 finish, trying to take home the F.A Cup (to WHL not yr own home) or going as far a possible in the Champions League?

Tough one eh?

Here is mine and my warpped reasoning:

1st - Securing a spot in the Top 4 must come first its atotal no brainer, vital for our ongoing development as a club to allow us to compete in Europes top tournement rasing our profile internationally as well as: keeping existing key players, attracting new ones and the dosh.

2nd - FA Cup its been so long and we have come close to a final spot many times since we last lifted it.  Dam for many years we held the record for most wins in the FA Cup, and also winning it ensures we will have some euro footi next season (vital as a minimum) if the league form goes to total s**t!

3rd - Champions League - Our aim is to qualify again for next season by finihsing in the top 4 of the EPL, we need to show that we can go far when in the CL and not just make up the numbers, and I think for our first showing we have already done just that.

If we qualify for next seasons CL via the league we will have a crop of players willing to come and play for us on Europes biggest stage, not to mention keep our key players.

Staying in it a bit longer will bring more dosh too..... can we win it? well while we are still in it we are in with a chance, one game at a time, but for me its way to early to talk about that option.

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?

I want to see us really have a go on all fronts. They'll all be tough, but we've a got a big and under-utilized squad. I can't wait for the game against Milan. Hopefully we can get a run of good results starting this weekend.

I really dont think we have the depth in quality in all areas to do it on all fronts this season mate, what with injuries as well.  Would lurve to be proved wrong though!

Hopefully Bale doesn't need back surgery. That would be a huge blow.

I would pref to see Kran used if Bale is out (which hope he isnt as the lad is having a great season) and Pie down the middle.

I agree wish ASF. Go all out on all fronts. Whats the use of depth if we only focus on one thing. CL against Milan would be great! Prem league battle for 4th is also great.  Fa cup nonetheless the same!

I hope we can go all out on CL seriously. With prem league being a close fight for title contenders and 4th place im not that worried as for now. Harry will pull something off, he always does.

FA Cup.. would love to see us lift it one more time.. When the year ends in 1!!

I think fa cup could be a goer and like to see us see off milan but it will be difficult. I dont think we will finish fourth this season and will fall just short. We havent the killer instinct up front and if harry continues to waste time in signing strikers and prefer to be linked with bargain basement players like pienaar, robinson and nevillew we certainly wont progress in the leauge. We had a chance to cement fourth and couldnt do it.

CL for me. Obviously want us to have a go on all fronts but we may never make top 4 again for a long time, whats the aim of top 4? To get to CL.....to win CL etc etc

I'd laugh my cock off if we won it before the Chavs and the Scum after all their attempts year on year.

We are not going to win the CL put it that way....FA Cup would be nice but not really bothered about it...it's imperative that we get top 4 again.

Who cares about the FA Cup? Can't see us winning at Fulham, maybe a draw but we dont need that right now. 4th spot will be tough, we knew we needed a top quality striker in August and here we are clutching at straws with a few days to go to transfer deadline.  City have proved if you buy quality you can use your full squad. Everybody keeps saying we have a great squad but we don't use them. Kranch could have come in for Modric every 3rd game, Corluka could have done the same at right back.  You have to keep the players eager to play. Bale has been over used and Jenas keeps getting in ahead of Sandro and Kranch !!  Why? He's useless and he proves it every time he puts on the shirt.  Hard to see us winning at Blackburn, Blackpool or Sunderland in next few matches?  Roll on Champions League, we will give most teams a run for their money over two legs, nobody will fancy coming to the Lane.

Why choose? Win them all I say! Of the three we probably have the best chance of winning the FA cup. Honestly, I think we have a better shot at the Champions League title than the Premier League. I see us finishing 5th unless the boys begin a magical run -- like soon. In my opinion, we've already dropped the points we needed and the damage is done on that front. Not sure about this "don't see us winning at Fulham" business Dublinboy! Whaddup wit dat?!
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*
