If we sign Carroll boys we may get used to the ball coming down with snow on it because thats all we are going to do is hoof it!...so much for the Tottenham way of playing!

get used to it????/ we already are mate its all we do when crouch plays. Really puts the s**te up opposing defenses.

Crouch in the starting 11 or brought on as a sub = punt the ball up high, up field with hope the bean pole may do sumin with his head and 9x outta 10 the oppostion end up with the ball great tactic it is!
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Exactly...we only hoof it when Crouch is on, thats why i hate seeing him in the starting eleven....we have never been a long ball team(not in my time supporting Spurs anyway)....as i said earlier its not the Tottenham way..i personally think Redknapp is worried because we are falling behind slighty in the title race and he's asking the players to hit Crouch at every opportunity(a panic ball if you like)...you only have to look at Sundays game for evidence of that.

Thats why im against us signing Carroll....i agree that we do need a decent striker to take us to the next level,an aggressive one(as someone else pointed out)..someone in the same mould as Tevez or Rooney but not Carroll...he's over-rated and he's not a Tottenham player put it that way.

Spot on. I was screaming for Pav when Utd went down to 10 men. Just hitting balls to Crouch was playing into Utds hands, we needed a bit of guile and invention and Pav gives us more of that than Crouch ever will. I'm losing patience with Crouch he is not great at holding the ball, gives away to many fouls and quite frankly considering his size he's bloody useless in the air. Not only that but as has already been said his inclusion in the team dictates the way we play which must be a dream to the opposition as they know exactly whats coming as soon as they see the teamsheet.

Different type of striker altogether....Hulk as ability....he's very quick for a big lad...he's decent with the ball on the deck or over the top...he's has scored more goals with his feet than his head...he has got all the things Carroll hasn't..ie quick feet..powerful shot and incredible work-rate.

Cant see it happening tho, i read somewhere ,they are looking £40+ million for him...

Hulk ??.... the guy is less than 6ft talll FFS..... thats the same height as Jenas and Suarez..

he has average pace, plays in a weak league and has little discipline on the field.... not worth even 8m..

these are the guys we SHOULD be looking at: Lukaku, Bothroyd, C.Jerome, Benzema (loan), Fabiano (< 15m pounds), Vucinic (unlikely), Grafite (< 10m), Al-Arabi, Suarez, Matt Kondji, Bendtner..

He's not a kick in the arse of 6ft Gareth...he's very quick for a guy of that size..not sure about his discipline record.

Matt is actually 'Kandji' not 'Kondji' pointed that out to you before..lets get the names right

Bendtner.. ::)

he aint even 6ft and they only called him Hulk cos he played for Tokyo Verdy and the Japansese players made him LOOK huge...also,  Verdy = green.... is the penny dropping yet ??

if he didnt have such an 'exotic' nickname to be such a Media-darling with, he'd be worth 8m pounds (10m euros)... if that..

and I think this 'he played for Arse' crap has been well and truly 'been there/bought the T', after Capt.Gallas ... lets not be too simplistic

You have some imagination sir i'll give you that...infact you would need to grab a hold of it before it runs away from you

I think if you look it up you will find, that he was called hulk after his favourite cartoon character.

Who's this Al-Arabi player you speak of?...the last time i checked Al-Arabi were a football team in Kuwait

Bendtner..
You cannot be serious. He is just a loudmouth...

must be why top CL teams are linked with him for last few yrs....

this might be a total shot in the dark, but just maybe he has the technical ability WITH HEIGHT that the Spurs team need the most upfront now.... comfortable with ball on the ground, gives an aerial option, has proven Prem pedigree but still young, and would be the star-striker in most Prem teams...

15m pounds sterling should do it

Whatever happened to the short-lived rumors in transfer windows past regarding Giuseppi Rossi at Villareal (love that guy) and Edinson Cavani at Napoli?
Cavani is still owned by Palermo.
He may be. I honestly don't know if Cavani's on loan, but he has definitely scored 13 goals for Napoli in Serie A this season. Sounds like I was on to something regarding Rossi. New rumors cropped up in the last couple of days. Personally, I think he's the right man for the job. A little smallish but Rossi's young, he's got a serious motor and a hunger to score. I read some other rumors about Vucinic at Roma yesterday. I almost mentioned him but didn't believe such a move was even conceivable. I wonder if there's any merit to either of these stories.

Fabiano can stick it! The guy seems flaky, if he doesn't want to be here screw him.
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*

Napoli have an option of buying Cavani for about 12M at the end of the seson, and seeing how he is playing they are going to do it, so forget that option. Pity because he's world class. Vucinic is probably going to leave Roma in the summer - if someone offers 10M+. He's a fantastic skillfull player and should score 25 goals a season (but actually scores 15), but like Pav he's a bit lazy and can drop out of games completely if he's not in the mood. He is also one of those irritating players that scores impossibly difficult goals but then misses all the sitters.

I know we all dream of the 40 goal a season striker but the feeling here in Italy is that Spurs are awesome from midfield upwards but the defence is weak and lacks pace. I'm terrified by the thought of Hutton and Dawson defending against Ibrahimovic and Pato. So, how about buying a world class defender or two rather than a striker??
