how to make a thread disappear quick smart
« on: December 08, 2010, 10:54:15 AM »
Just mention Gareth Keown's  continuous nonsense and admins constant inability to deal with the situation coupled with a refusal to comment on the situation which is making them look less effective by the day. See how long this lasts!

maybe Admin are just bored by the ineptitude of some forum users to comprehend the point of having the 'ignore' facility supplied to the site at 'great expense'......

or maybe, after careful painstaking perusal of the ACTUAL content of posts by this GK character, they have come to the quite obvious conclusion that merely expressing views differing from the usual flock, itself, does not constitute a break in the terms of usage of said site....

the IGNORE BUTTON..... not just ornamental, my lovelies....

Message from a staff member: Listen people, Biggs updated the forum so that you can ignore posts by users you cannot stand. There is no point in creating threads à la Gareth Out! etc., especially in Spurs Chat section of the forum. We will continue deleting threads and posts which only start yet another slappingfest.

Thank you.

Message from regular member: bigv, I am disappointed in you.

and admins constant inability to deal with the situation coupled with a refusal to comment on the situation which is making them look less effective by the day.

To be fair, you don't really know what goes on behind the scenes, what is being discussed and what we have said to other member's...so you can;t really comment on that.

If somone in the staff feels that it was best for the thread to be deleted, then i will back them all the way

by saying i have an inability to deal with the situation is suggesting there is only one solution to the situation, slapping a ban on someone.

I personally I'm not one for being ban happy, but i will as a last resort.

I Have mentioned this in public before and gave members public warnings, you may have missed that though bigv.

bigv, you have been a member here a long time, i would have preferred that you brought up any issues you had, with me personally and i would have happily explained it to you.

but what's done is done.

I did introduce the Ignore feature to try and cut out some of the bitching and it has only been here for a about week, so i will be giving it more a chance before i do anything.

I am quite happy for the admin to run the site as they see fit and think it is run extremely well so credit where credits due. There are only the odd comments here and there that cause problems, but they are on the whole from just one poster, who I won't mention as we all know who it is.

Big V, Biggs has on more than one occasion publically dressed down posters for out of order comments. BigV use the ignore facility, I have and you only have to read sensible comments from sensible posters....... it's great!!

The important thing to remember though is this a forum for airing your views and although you may not agree with someone they are after all entitled to their view. The only thing that you can sometimes get upset about is the abusive name calling or insults that tend to get slung around......and if we are all honest we have all done it !!!

Always found it comical to witness the spastic jerkings of the Mods at SC as they struggled without either wit or wisdom...

1 thread gets deleted, and your crying about it?

Deal with it.
