Gives the ball away and out of position way too many times. I love him going forward and he is getting much better due to the run of games, a real asset with his pace at the back but the two biggest negatives for me are terrible at defending players coming inside him and just gifting away the ball with a sloppy pass while not under pressure.

Hopefully he cuts the poor passes with more and more games as he is certainly much more confident and starting to play like he does for Scotland.

He is a fullback. And the first duty of a fullback is defend. So, he must undestand that. And also start to improve his defensive play.

The thing is when i watch Hutton, i think he's improved alot.... but, i always think we can get better than him.

Nothing against him, but where does he fit in when everybody is fit?

If we had King/Dawson/Woodgate and Gallas as our CB's... i would rather Kaboul go RB

I've been impressed with Hutton this season and so has Harry because we haven't seen Čorluka in starting XI for a while now (he was probably injured somewhere inbetween). I like Hutton's attacking abilities but yes, he must concentrate on defending more, sometimes he doesn't get back soon enough and against better teams this could become a serious problem. Hutton has improved a lot...

Hutton can indeed Emulate Bale but only to a certain extent. I dont think he has that scoring ability that Bale does but still. He can play as good as Bale.

Hutton's actually scored more goals than Bale from a fullback's position...

it would be intrigying to use Hutton as a backup to Lennon as a RM.... he could offer a similar type of service to Bale . as well as play RB mainly...

not qiute sure where vdV fits into the team anymore, now that Defoe is back... Lennon is far better at RM both offensively and perhaps more importantly: defensively (as a screen for the RB)..

Hutton is looking more confident with each game and suits our attacking style of play.

His defensive side of his game is his weakest but I think with more games played and more confidence he will become a key player for us in that position!

I would be surspised if he gets dropped this season, only if injuried will his place go
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Yes, Hutton has improved. However, the best Spurs right-back performance I have seen in a long time was this season , home to Wolves. Kaboul was great at defending AND going forward.
Not sure whether he'll do as well at centre back without Gallas. Best result would be an awesone CB and Kaboul at right back.

At the moment Hutton is justifying his place in the team on form, which I hasten to add is great news. I think that when Dawson is fit, Kaboul will probably move out to the right but if Hutton is playing well then maybe 'Arry will stick with him !!!

Lawrie.... I also have thought since Kaboul came back to Spurs that he is easily our best RB.... far better than the over-rated snail Corluka even last season.....

but right now with King especially absent, we need our best defender to play at CB hopefully next to Gallas (hope he stays fit).... King may just come back to be a backup as we canno0t rely on him to stay fit for long anymore...

a new CB eg. Khumalo and possibly a cheap Upson would be excellent business in January..... and Dawson can make the teas at h/t til the summer, when he can move to Blackburn or similar..

Hutton was a bit out of his depth vs Ars*nal i thought.

Having said that i don't want us spending more cash on another RB as he's decent enough at both going forward and defending.

Since Kaboul and Gallas are staying strong and getting better better understanding each other i think When Dawson/King comes back we should still stick with both Gallas Kaboul.

I love Daws i really do but after a lengthy time out we should slowly bring him in and wait until either Kaboul or Gallas form's go down. Kaboul and Gallas form arent that bad either. Daws must fight for his place since Kaboul is making that spot his. King on the other hand would get that spot automatically and play with Gallas :P Hahah!

I think right now Rightback Hutton should stay. Kaboul can play there and he is stronger and faster and have that scoring touch but i think right now Kaboul is needed in CB and looking back he is somehow for me better than Bassong.

I think he's improving, but he's not really a younger player who is still learning his trade.

I've always said that I don't think that Corluka has the pace to get forward well enough and then back in time to defend. Hutton is good enough at attacking, but gets turned far too easily. I do think that he has recently earned his place in the starting XI and it's up to him to keep it.

It seems that his crossing has really improved and that really has yielded results for us because Lennon also seems to be returning to form. With Bale being Bale on the left and those two getting better on the right, we're looking better and better.
