Maybe Gareth is Jermain Jenas
As I've said, I believe Jenas to be a much nicer bloke.

its possible to give the illusion of Modric still being invaluable to Spurs, as long as you play him in certain games when everyones fit, and as much as possible during injuries eg.THudd's....

during the most critical moment of the season so far, at the time of greatest stress, when we were 2-0 down vs Inter and with 10 men..... remind me again which player Arry subbed and which stayed on...

if Modric-THudd is the REAL 1ST choice.... why take Modric off to keep Jenas on the pitch ??... :-*

Aww Christ, are you on that dumb ish again? First off we were down 1-0 with the PK pending. Secondly, if you're going to be down to 10 men at the San Siro against Inter likely down a couple of goals - you don't take off a guy playing defense in the middle. You take off an extra attacker which is the role Modric was playing that day. Simple as that. And as far as Modric playing b/c of Hudd's injury. You've got that all ass-backwards. Modric plays next to Tom or in place of Van der Vaart. Jenas plays when Tom can't be there. Not the other way around.
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*

ohhh mayan !!.... whatyoutalkinaboutWillsy ??

Modric is mainly a centre-midfielder for Spurs

THGudd is mainly a centre-midfielder for Spurs

Jenas is mainly a centre-midfielder for Spurs

therefore surely if THudd and Modric are the best CMs at Spurs.... and streets ahead of that useless Jenas.... it would have made the most perfect of sense to take off Jenas and drop Modric into centre-midfield (as he was only playing 2nd striker due to vdV's suspension anyway)...

Jenas stayed on.... Modric came off.....FACT.

are the little southern cogs a-turning in your cotton-pickin fried chicken lickin head of yours yet ??

PS - .... dagnabbit !!

You've made this point about 100 times but you're still dancing around the obvious here. If Modric, Huddlestone and Jenas are playing at the same time and we go a man down with Modric playing in an advanced position, Jenas or Huddlestone would have needed to be playing terribly to be taken off instead of Modric. He was in the advanced position. It was the obvious choice. If that wasn't enough for you (and it really should be) you should keep in mind that I don't think I've seen anyone on here argue with you that Jenas is better defensively than Modric.

So PLEASE tell me how any of that equates to Redknapp and Levy conspiring to play the dreadful Modric so that they can drive up his transfer fee and put the mighty Jenas where he belongs.

Hmm.. just to show qualities i sold Jenas to wolves in my FM2011 game and even there he wasnt in the first XI.

:P :P :P!!!

Anyhow why does it have to be Modders playing just to keep his transfer fee up. So that Barca can come and bid in 30 - 50 million smackers?

ASpursFan.... heres a wild thought...

when 2-0 down against Inter Milan in their backyard and with only 10 men .... you take off the useless Jenas and move Modric .... sorry, the great Modric..... back into centre-midfield next to THudd...

Arry must be really thick not to have spotted that one eh..... just as well cos Jenas had a crucial hand in all 3 goals Spurs scored later...

If we are only playing Modric so that he is in the shop window how come Bentley and Dos Santos dont get to play every week ?

cos you have to be selective with the dross you play every week.... too much and you lose too many games and they dont retain their value either.... loss x2...

better to retain the value of a 20m purchase (as much as poss) than a 5m player like Dos Santos... play Bentley most games and you'd be lucky to get 2 pound fifty in change for him...

So basically we are playing Jenas to keep his value up so we can get £10 million for him in January !!!
