Tom Huddlestone out for 3 months!
« on: November 15, 2010, 06:18:37 PM »
Out for 3 months!

Following consultation with several independent ankle specialists,   it has been determined that Tom Huddlestone will undergo surgery on his   right ankle.
The procedure is likely to rule the England international out of action for around three months.

Thats all we need!

Cant believe the amount of injuries we have had this season, and it has just been confirmed that Huddlestone is going to be out for 3 months with his ankle injury and is to have surgery. This is ridiculous now we have King, Woodgate, Dawson, Corluka, Bentley, Dos Santos, Huddletone, O'Hara, Defoe, Keane ALL OUT. I think its time to recall some of the loanees.

Don't forget Lennon is also out as well. Crouch will probably get injured playing against France.

This is the time to test our strength in depth that we also so proud of ever since last season. If Arry can still pull it off then there wouldnt be any problem at all

I dont think its such a big negative.... if Modric is gonna play CM anyway then its probably better to have the running-power of Jenas or Palacios next to him, and we have Sandro too as extra cover..

as much as I like THudd in the team, it may be a blessing in disguise (if Modric is gonna play at CM no matter what)...

aren't Lennon, Bentley, Corluka all fit now anyway ??..... cudda sworn some were on the bench on Saturday..

Thing is with Hudds, when ever he doesn't play we struggle. and when ever he comes on or plays he always changes the game for us

FC twente game away being the perfect example

we played Jenas-Modric against Villa and looiked really good..... looked excellent again vs. Blackbum apart from the last 20mins when 4-0 up..

I actually think Jenas-Modric may be our best combo for overall attacking/defensive qualities... as long as you can bring on Palacios for Modric the last 20mins of games, after Modric has run outta steam..

^^ A fair point Gareth. Maybe this is time for Sandro to step up and get some game time and adapt to the Premier League. Kaboul has got a call up for France on wednesday to face England so hopefully he takes it steady and doesnt get injured! Corluka is fit again now i think.

This season is certainly testing our depth regarding injuries to key players.

Fair point made by GK, I think Jenas Modric combo is probably now first choice midfield attcaking option with Sandro as an option and Wilson too we need a more holding role.

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

No blessing in disguise as far as i am concerned. Stupid statement.

Doesn't matter what CM combo you prefer, having one less option , and a very good option at that, to choose from is only bad news.

A bit like the blessing that Dawson got injured, how has that worked out for us?

If Modric picks up an injury we will have to change the system we play, we are adaptable thanks to VDV being so good everywhere but i think this injury on top of the others is going to haunt us due to another injury or suspension.

its a blessing in the way that it shouldnt hurt us that much.... and it will no doubt improve the running-power of the CM which is lacking with THudd-Modric...

Dawson is just as prone as anyone else in the back4 to the errors leading to chances..... and we'd have to defend alot deeper alot of the time to compensate for his slowness... meanimng the midfield and forwards get dragged into our half more too..

Again I just cannot understand how you can be happy with one of our main players getting injured. You really are a piece of work, Gareth.

when did I say I was happy about it ??..... I said it may be a blessing in disguise cos it will allow, IMO of course, a better balance to the midfield than with having 2 out-and-out creative players with little running-power after 70mins..

politics and keeping the fans from shouting abuse at Jenas for 'stealing' THudd's (or Modric's) place, and thus notputting extra-pressure on a player, will be a good thing...if THudd's injured they wont be shouting for Mr.Scapegoat Jenas to be subbed after every 5mins at WHL.....
