Dawson has been outstandin in my opinion..he's led the team from the back like ledders did before he was injured..and is a candidate for a future captain.
BUT..i think berbatov has to take the award of player of the season..he is just a class act!!

Agree mate, dawson has been immense and gives his all in every game. But Berbas huge impact makes him slight favourite for player of the season imo.

Its defo a close 1 between dawson and berba. Think id give it to dawson, almost  ever present n kept us together at the back, i love his commitment aswel, he goes in for everything and loved it when we saw how much it meant when he equalised against chelscum.

i think Dawson because most of the season he has had to control that defence on his own with out king i think he has played a big role

Thats a fair point, though Berbatov has just shown world class this season.

It's a close fight, and i cant decide. :dunno:

It's difficult not to be biased here as I'm so crazy about Berba (sorry to be girlie)!  But........Daws has been brilliant ALL season, Mr Consistent I'd say and it would have to be between the two of them.

ever present Dawson for me. Taking the wholse season into context it took berby a while to get going.

I agree.
I think it should be Dawson. Berba became quite active and showed artistic shootings recently. But, Dawson has played a very important role in defense for a long time this season.

And, Berba is getting enough spotlights already.

Michael Dawson for me too. I bet it was a proud day for him when he led the team out as Captain at Stamford Bridge in the Qtr Final of the FA Cup :)

You have a very good point there mate. Berbatov took a little while to actually kick in, whereas Dawson has been consistent all season.

You have a point there, he has indeed adapted to the English game really well, and extremely fast..

I expect even more from him next year. :)

He's not been mentioned so far but for me a dark horse had to be pascal chimbonda.

Baring in mind he only joined at the strat of the season he's adapted to our system magnificently, been solid all season where he's had to play ina variety of different positions.

Other than that i have to agree with the rest of you with berbatov and Dawson.

Out of them 2 though i would have to pick berbatov.

What you have to realise is that this guy has only played in this league for this season and has been impecibal for us. Fair enough he had a fairly slow start but surely he cant be blamed for needin to have a bit of time to adapt to our league.

Better than having to wait a full season like Chelsea had to with Drogba :spoton:

However, is it not true that if credit had to be given to players it would usually be those who appear on the scoresheet?

Indeed it may seem that Berbatov has played an important part in many of the games we have won this season, but if Dawson was not at the back to protect it all, we would not of won half of the games that we have this year..
