Worst XI
« on: October 10, 2010, 06:12:21 PM »
OK at the moment I think we all kind of agree our first XI is a reasonably good side so what about the worst Spurs XI you can come up with

Here's mine

                              Mimms

Atouba         Nethercott    Doherty     Tramazzanni

Acimovic       Gilberto         Prince Boateng    Fox

                      Iversen       Rasiak

Now thats a pretty crap side !!!!!

1. Bobby Zamora (big disappointment)
2. Milenko Acimovic (the miss against Chelsea was awful)
3. Paulo Tramezzani (a Italian who couldnt defend)
4. Moussa Saib
5. Jason Dozzell
6. Ronnie Rosenthal (one good game but man what a game :))
7. Mbulelo Mabizela
8. Kazuyuki Toda
9. Jose Dominguez
10. Helder Postiga (paid alot of money for him but the postman couldnt deliver, sorry got that line out of a newspaper)

Also: Ruel Fox & Stephane Dalmat should be mentioned

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?

Mimms was a legend, I can remember the opposition often cheer when his name was called and dam he could make a set of gloves last a whole season through lack of use.

In all fairness its hard to pick a worst 11, we all have fav and palyers we dont rate for what ever reason justly or not.

The list posted first is a pretty naff line up wouldnt want to feild that in our next match...... I would replace Iversen with Bent though just on sheer pound value and failuer to operate his inner sta nav to goal correctly.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Atouba scored a pretty sweet goal for us vs Newcastle i seem to remember. He also had increadble throw-in's, obviously weren't enough to keep him at WHL though...

Few worth mentioning are ramon vega, ben alnwick, sergei rebrov, jermaine jenas, david bentley and gareth keown. I thought iversen was not a bad player.

Well, it seems that you haven't been a Spurs supporter for long. We have had much worse players throughout the years. And why on earth is Teemu Tainio in your list?! Simply unbelievable.

Tainio was an excellent squad player and Anthony Gardner was a very under-rated CB that had alot of  injuries... in fact Gardner was excellent the last 2-3 seasons he was at Spurs IMO..

Chimbonda in his 1st Spurs spell was fantastic - the best RB in the league... in his 2nd spell he was played outta position alot at CB and even feckin leftback !!.... still wasnt nearly as bad as CorDawsonluka..

Daren Bent ??.... the guy has simply been our best striker who was seldom used due to more Media-championed players eg. Keane being prefered instead... Bent has a very impressive goals record at Spurs when played and was fantastic in the season before last at Spurs scoring many goals at home, away from home, against quality sides etc....

in fact, it amazes me how anyone can say Bent especially was 1 of our worst players ever ??.... the stupidity of some Spurs fans is trult astounding..

Whilst I wouldn't deny we have had our share of rubbish over the years, a lot of the players that have been mentioned didn't get the games or the time to show what they were made of. Steffan Iversen was our main goal scorer for a couple of seasons and is still playing in CL now so cant be that bad. Moussa Saib was a cracking player when he got a chance. Jose Dominguez was a cult hero and so on. The worst squad we ever had was the bunch that got us relegated back in the 70's but even they had some decent players and most of them were in the side that came straight back up. I tend to look at Spurs players through rose tinted glasses, It's only when they leave I realise how crap they were.

I remember that side I was watching from the terraces if I remember rightly Hoddle, Ducan, Taylor, Lee, McCallister, Perryman, McNab, Jones and Daines off the top of my head !!!

Yeah. You look at the names and think, how on earth did they go down ? But they did, it was the worst day of my life. I hated them. Although we have flirted with relegation since, all the players that have been listed here have played in the top flight and kept us in there even if only by the skin of our teeth.
