Those are some awesome pics, i bet you had a great day out yesterday mate, i envy you! Shame about the score, thats the first Lions win on the road in 26 games or something like that! Shame it had to come yesterday. That pirate ship looks amazing. I watched that game (whilst flicking over to the Giants) and then the Packers-Patriots. There was no chance of the spurs game going on yesterday the snow is pretty serious out here, just hope its nowhere to be seen on Boxing Day when we play the Villa. YID ARMY

Brilliant pics Wilson, thanks for sharing. Sorry you didnt get the result you were looking for.

I watched the Steelers Jets game, it was good once it got going and i really thought the Steelers last drive was going to get them the points.

Can someone (in plain English) try to explain how the play-off positions are actually decided? Do all divisional winners get through plus the best two in the conference? That is my best guess but i could be way off!

That's exactly right. 4 division winners plus the 2 best remaining teams (wild cards) in each conference. There are often two (even three in some years) very strong teams in the same division - so the wild card allows those teams an opportunity to make the playoffs. The six teams are seeded based on regular season record and paired accordingly. For example, if I've got this right, if the playoffs started today in the AFC the matchups would be:
#1 Patriots (bye)
#2 Steelers (bye)
#3 Chiefs v. #6 Ravens
#4 Colts v. #5 Jets
Then, the lowest advancing team plays the #1 seed. Higher seeds always have the homefield of course.

Sorry Wilson i meant to say thanks for your reply ages ago.

Business end of the season now. I only have the Colts left to back for my betting and im not too sure how long that will last as i fancy the Jets this weekend.

Only just realised the Giants didnt make it sorry Somerset? I was looking at their average and even with Wilsons great explanation i still dont see how they didnt make it! lol

Colts favored by 2.5 at home last I saw. They've made the playoffs 9 consecutive years now. I've become accustomed (spoiled) to all that success and have had the luxury of enjoying the regular season for nearly a decade.

...BUT - tomorrow is the time when I turn into a raving lunatic. I'll need to surround myself with non-breakables and have plenty of pillows on hand. No idea which Peyton is going to show up tomorrow against the Jets. If it's "the Sherriff" - then the Colts will ride out and it'll be a pleasure to watch. If it's "happy feet Peyton" then we're in for an ugly beatdown. Indy is basically a .500 team in the playoffs in the Manning era so there is no telling. We had SEVENTEEN players injured last week - NINE of them defensive backs. We've also had more players on our active roster this season than any other team. Honestly, I expect a victory this week and then a loss to the Steelers next week. I DESPISE THEM ALL !!! The Patriots, Steelers, Chargers, Jets & Saints -- in that order. Anybody but them!

Im gutted the Giants didnt make it and i cant really understand how they didnt aswell!?  >:(  But that aside i cant wait for tomorrows  and sundays games! Colts/Jets is going to be massive and im with you Wilson cheering for the Colts! Saints/Seahawks i can only really see the Saints winning but i hope Seattle pull something special out the bag. Then tomorrow another 2 great games in store Packers/Eagles (Packers win will be great here because i hate Philly) and Ravens/Chiefs (Chiefs win)!!! Good luck with the Colts Wilson i think its going to be a really special game. YID ARMY

@Somerset. The Bucs and Giants were eliminated from the wild card round based on performance against common opponents when compared to the Packers. I believe all three teams had identical conference records (8-4) which is the first tiebreaker. The next tiebreaker is common opponents.

If not for the blown offensive pass interference call in the Bucs / Lions game when Kellen Winslow's touchdown was waved off, Tampa Bay would be in with an 11-5 overall record. The league office apologized to the club later that week and publicly said, "We got that one wrong". Tampa's offensive coordinator then received a fine because he told the NFL "Thanks for nothing. Keep your apology. Our season is ruined." -- true enough

A lot like relations with the FA, UEFA, & FIFA eh? We may admit that a mistake was made but don't you dare have any sort of human reaction or else. There is really zero accountability for poor officiating.

Sorry about your team Wilson (and my bet), Colts just were not firing as they can, just like you predicted may happen.

Terrible ending to a game, i stayed up to watch it and the final minute killed my whole day today.

Always next year.

I also watched a bit of the Seahawks game, they looked ready to throw the match and couldnt pick a single pass then bang the guy breaks from nowhere and does a brilliant hand-off.

I was in a pretty foul mood but Defoe's brace against Charlton cheered me up. I honestly didn't expect the Colts to progress any further than the next round with the number of key injuries we have. You never want to lose, though, and losing to a club like the Jets is even tougher to stomach. The New York Jets must be among the stupidest teams in the NFL. The decisions they made were comical. They were really trying to hand the Colts the game. And their quarterback, Sanchez, is terrible. Talent-wise they are certainly a formidable group, however; more talented as a whole than Indianapolis. That being said my two whining bitter fan complaints are:

1. Jacob Tamme was clearly interfered with on the 5 yard line. The safety went THROUGH him to "make a play on the ball" - which is interference no matter how you cut it. That would have given the Colts a 1st down and almost definitely 6 points rather than a field goal. Game over.

2. Taj Smith running into the punter with less than 3 minutes to go cost us two precious timeouts - and possibly the game. What a retard! My wife cringed when she saw that because she knew a rant was imminent...

Oh well, I knew this season was a long shot anyway with the entire secondary decimated, Dallas Clark & Austin Collie out. Don't really know who to root for now. I guess I'll pull for an NFC team to win - maybe the winner of the Falcons/Packers game next week. My original Super Bowl prediction of Packers over Ravens is still possible, but unlikely. Looks like either the Steeler or Patriots will represent the AFC... gag me  :buck2:

point 1 totally agree. They dont often miss much on the pitch but it hurts bad when they do.

point 2. Made me laugh, not what happened costing the team but the bit where your wife knew what was coming. I have one that can see it coming everytime a decision goes against Spurs!

Roll on next season.
