I like the typical 4-4-2.

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?

The problem I see with the 4-4-2 formation is that you need at least 3 that are pretty good defensively. We already have Lennon in there which makes us look a bit lightweight. Add VdV into a 4-man midfield, along with Lennon and Modric then we are going to be overun by any physical team.

I'd go for a 4-5-1:

BAE-Gallas-King-Bale
Lennon-Hudd-Palacios-Modric-VdV
Defoe

easy... drop Modric

play vdV upfront.... he can easily play the role of striker if Keano can, as he's 3inches taller, a good yard faster (not hard this), and technically a far better player with the game-intelligence to match..

vdV played 18 times last season and got 7 goals 7 assists.... equivalent to 14 goals in 18 games... which is pretty impressive...

vdV will play when Defoe doesnt.... and vice versa... expect him to start against Bremen as he has experience of playing in Germany..

Paul I like this Midfield but RB should be Corluka and upfront Probably Crouchie

                     Gomes

Corluka     Gallas     King      Bale

         Huddlestone  Palacious

Lennon          Modric    Van der Vaart

                     Crouch

This also gives the three behind Crouch the option of interchanging, and with Bale at LB he can get forward and ovelap when we are attacking !!

interchanging the 3 attacking-middies with Crouch upfront will be irrelevant.... cos then you'd have Modric in an advanced wideish position and he will be very poor at supporting his fullback from there as he will need to run an extra yardage to get into position swiftly...

also teams will just defend higher up with Crouch alone upfront knowing he's not going to out-run anyone, and also knowing they will have 5yds start on Lennon getting behind and attacking the pen-box..

dont worry... its quite common for kids to try and take all their toys outta the box all at once.... Uncle Arry will sort it for you tho...

Ugs: thanks for poniting out my error with BAE and Bale. Must have been wishful thinking that we have a right back as good as either of those two! Personally, I'd like to see Hutton given a run. He seems faster and looks more effective going forward. I don't think Kaboul has got the positional sense yet but I think he could be a great right-back in the future.

No worries mate but if I remember right last season BAE played at right back against Man Ure I think and had a nightmare, Hutton's not a bad shout. Kaboul still needs some work doing before he's ready good going forward but tends to get caught out of position a bit but like you say may be  very good in the future but it depends on if he stays at centre back or not. At the moment I think that Corluka is the safest bet until someone improves or he is replace with another specialist RB !!!

Hutton is a strange one. He has a great engine (when fit) and is a cracking attacking full back but sometime is feel Spurs isnt the club that he really gets chance to shine at as Lennon does a great job by playing as a proper winger hence no space for Hutton to arrive in.

Corluka is slow and sometimes has a mare on the ball but he does defend better, you only need to see Hutton in some of the pre-season games, old Hun (Ran*ers) games and Scotland games to see how he gets caught with balls played inside him time and time again.

I do hope he gets a chance to play some cup games though as he might shine if Lennon is being rested for CL and Prem games.
